" No I am not!" I yelled at my father throwing a cushion in his direction.
"I am your father you will do what I tell you whether you like it or not!" He growled staring at me intensely. I could see how enraged he was but it only angered me more.
"I'm only 19 I have a life to live I don't want to be married off to a stranger!" suddenly tears filled my eyes I was moments away from gushing out. My father stood there crossing his arms staring at me as if I was nothing.
"What's all this shouting about!" my mother exclaimed.
"Your daughter refuses to follow my wishes." He said that whilst not leaving eye contact with me. My mother walked up to me, her arms reaching out ready to embrace me in a hug. "I think it's time you do Jamillah..." she whispered I was in disbelief, I shook her off me and stormed out of the room. I got in my car eager to get away from my parents and drove until I found myself somewhere familiar.

"Jamillah?"
I jumped at the break of silence as I was lost in my own thoughts. It was Nemo.
"You scared the living daylight out of me" I smiled. She smiled back. She was always so heartwarming. "So what are you doing here, not that I don't want u here.." She said whilst reaching into her bag.
"My parents-" I trailed off, replaying the events which had just happened. She gave me a look of sympathy and helped me out of the car. "Come on I want to show you something!" I looked at her in confusion only for her to hurry up the steps and into her home. I walked in not knowing what to expect and stood in the long hallway. I turned to see myself in the mirror. I was a mess I looked like I just ran a marathon. I tired fixing my makeup which was smudged from crying. "Come in here already!" A voice boomed out. I rolled my eyes and trudged on.

"SUPRISE!" She held up the cupcakes like it was her greatest achievement. A smile spread across my face as I rushed to the table snatching the cupcakes from her. She let out a little laugh and poured me some milk. "Why are you so nice to me?" I questioned
"Because you're my little donkey" I rolled my eyes at her and smirked. Nemo was just different she has a contagious smile and she has the brains. Along with that she was one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen.
"How does a movie night sound?" She suggested. "It sounds great! You should invite Murray!" I suggested.
"That's a great idea!" Her eyes lit up in excitement.

"IM HERE!"
I turned to see Murray holding bags of what seemed like snacks.
I walked over to help her so she didn't fall like she always did. She's a bit of a clutz. " There's only three of us you know." I laughed.
"You can never have too many snack" she responded. Nemo walked in with a unbothered expression on her face. We're all used to Murray being extra. "Come on guys the movie is starting" Murray jumped onto the sofa like a toddler making herself comfortable. I was finally ready to relax and forget about today.

The next morning I arrived home I wasn't ready to face my parents yet so I sprinted to my room. I looked like a mess so I took a long warm shower and refreshed myself. I sighed at hearing my fathers voice yelling in the distance. I decided I should collect my emotions before facing him again. "Jamillah? Can I come in?.." it was my mother. I rolled my eyes "Come in." She opened the door and stood waiting again for my approval. I nodded my head slightly. She came and sat beside me on my bed. " you know I didn't mean anything bad by what I said." She explained. Her hand rubbed my lower back in an attempt to comfort me ,I flinched at her touch. She moved her hand away taking a breath..."Your father wasn't happy that you left yesterday..." I shot her look and she instantly looked down. "Be downstairs in 5 minutes" I rolled my eyes at her as she left the room.

I wore a baby blue dress which hugged my curves I admired myself in the mirror. I know I looked good. I smirked knowing this outfit would piss off my father. I walked elegantly down our the stairs...I was feeling myself.
"Jamillah!" My mother called out for me. "Ugh" I groaned there goes my mood. "Come to the living room there's someone here to meet you!" She yelled. Someone here to meet me? I walked cautiously to the living room and my eyes immediately met with a tall man in a suit. He had his hair styled a particular way and he looked a little older than me. Who was he?
