Chapter 27 - On A High

Gemma's POV*

I woke up happy as anything.
Everything was good in my life for once. I had great friends, I was having fun and I had a boy who actually liked me. It was the happiest I had been in a while, I felt like nothing could bring me down.

I started the day off with a quick breakfast and some music while I cleaned my room. I had agreed to FaceTime Luke later that day since the connection was really bad the last time so I was excited for that. Kyle was at school today so we didn't plan anything but he was texting me in between classes. I decided to get myself ready to film some videos since I hadn't filmed in ages because I had so many pre recorded videos.

I did my make up and hair nicely and put on a nice top but kept my pyjama bottoms on because comfort is key.

Once I had set all my camera stuff up I got some juice and sat down to record.

"Hey guys! It's me! I'm actually filming this video a day before it goes up instead of it being pre recorded." I said facing the camera.
"I got back from America a few days ago and I knew I'd be tired so I made sure I had a video to put up back then, hopefully you liked it. But if you haven't saw it the link is in the description." I smiled.
"Okay so today I'm just gonna do a simple Q&A because I'm still a bit jet lagged and everyone loves Q&A's" I said.

I opened my laptop and went to my last video to find some questions.

"Right, someone asked what camera and lens do I use for my videos... I use the Canon Ti3 and the sigma lens, the sigma lens is really good. Everyone thinks you need an expensive camera to get good quality but to be honest all you need is a good lens." I explained.

"Second questionnn! Do I have any love interests?" I laughed.
"Okay, let's be real here. It's me! Once in a blue moon does a boy like me... BUT right now I do have someone in interest. It's not serious but I'm happy." I said laughing.

"Okay another question, am I still friends with Luke?" I said.
"Luke as in Luke Korns?.. Yeah we're great FRIENDS. See how i emphasised the friends part? That's because we are strictly friends so don't do the thing where you make edits and ask us if we're dating because we're not. He's a cool guy, I like him but not in that way." I said laughing.

I answered a few more questions and then ended the video.

"Okayyyyy that's all the questions I have for today! Leave some questions below for my next q&a please. If you liked this video give it a big thumbs up and subscribe. Tell your parents to subscribe, your dog, your siblings, your teachers EVERYONE. Okay bye!" I ended the video.

I turned my camera off and put all of my equipment away.

I wasn't gonna edit it until later tonight as I had an essay to do for my online teacher.

But first I was gonna try and sort something out with Jack to see if him and Luke could come over to Scotland for a few weeks. So I face timed him.

"So have you thought about what dates you and Luke could come over??" I sent Jack.
"Yeah, we can come over in 3 weeks, I've checked with Luke but I haven't bought any tickets yet. I was gonna tell Luke tonight once I'd bought them." He replied.
"Can I tell Luke? I agreed to talk to him tonight on Skype or FaceTime and I want to see his reaction." I asked.
"Sure, that's fine." He said smiling.
"I'm gonna make it a big surprise for Louise so don't say anything." I warned him.
"Don't worry, I won't. I hope she will be okay with me coming over without saying though." Jack said.
"She'll be more than okay! I've already had a word with her mum and you're staying at their house." I said smiling.
"Wait, her mom already knows about us?" Jack asked a bit worried.
"Yeah, it's fine though. She's totally cool about you and can't wait to meet you." I reassured him.
"Okay.." He sighed of relief.
"Jack you have nothing to worry about anyway. You're a nice boy and you're good to Louise what more does a mum want for her daughter?" I said laughing.
"So what does your mum think of Kyle?" He asked raising his eyebrows.
"I used to date Kyle, she knows him so there's no need for her to have a new opinion on him." I said defensively.
"Does she know what he done?" He asked.
"Yes. Not all the details, she knows what she needs to." I said.
"Wouldn't she prefer you with someone who you can trust?" He asked.
"Like who? I already trust Kyle, he's changed." I questioned.
"I don't know, maybe someone who is only interested in you. Someone who is always there for you.." He said.
"Who?" I asked confused at what he was talking about.
"Ugh..it doesn't matter. If you can't see it then I can't tell you because it's pretty obvious to everyone else." He said sighing.
"Jack I honestly don't know what you're talking about..I have to go now, bye." I said quickly ending the call before he could say anything else to confuse me.

I don't know why he was trying to confuse me so much. I can trust Kyle.. And he isn't interested in anyone else, I think anyway. But I'll find out next time we go on a date.

I studied for a bit and then decided to call Luke on Skype as I promised.

He answered with a smile.

"Hey!" He said waving.
"Hi.." I said.
"What's up?" He asked concerned.
"Oh nothing.." I said sighing.
"It's obviously something Gemma..tell me. I can tell when something is bothering you." He said.
"It's just something Jack said earlier.." I said slowly.
"What about?" He asked curious.
"He said that he doesn't understand why I'm dating someone who I can't trust but I do trust Kyle.. And then he started saying that I should try and get a boy who I can trust and who will only like me." I confessed.

Luke stayed silent but he looked confused. After he had processed it all he finally spoke.

"Maybe he's right .." He said slowly.
"Not you too!" I sighed.
"Look I'm not saying you should dump this boy just think about it... Is he the right one for you?" Luke said seriously.

I took time to answer as I was trying to think of something that would make him change his mind about Kyle.

"I'm not looking for the right one.. and if I dump Kyle who knows when the right one will come? Kyle is my right one, for now.. I doubt any other guy will like me ever if I let him go." I said.

"You'd be surprised about how many guys would want to date you." Luke said.
"You're funny!" I said sarcastically.
"Seriously, if you dump Kyle maybe the right one will be right in front of you." He said.
"In 10 years? Because that's how long it would take to find someone else." I said.
"It wouldn't. I assure you.." He said smiling a little.

I didn't see what he was trying to get across and I was too awkward talking about all this so I tried to change the subject.

"It doesn't matter anyway.." I lied.
"I have something to tell you.." I continued.
"Hm?" Luke said.
"Jack is buying 2 plane tickets for you guys to come over to Scotland to surprise Louise!" I said.
"Really?! That's great!" He said smiling.
"It's not for another few weeks but I'm excited to see you...both of you!" I said.
"I can't wait, you'll have to show me around." He said still smiling.
"I will don't worry!" I said laughing.

I heard Luke's mum in the distance shout Luke's name.

"Oh sorry.. I'm gonna have to go but I'm glad that I'm coming over to see you. I-I mean, we-we're coming to see you..not just me." Luke stuttered.
"I'll be glad to see you too." I said laughing.
"Bye." He said.
"Byee." I returned turning off Skype.

It's funny how I went from being on a high this morning to feeling crappy as hell, even if they were coming it just meant I would get more grief over Kyle.
