Your eyes were lowered onto your test that laid before you. I failed. You mentally pulled out your hair as you groaned and laid your face down on your paper. If I keep this up I'm going to flunk-! You pouted as the rest of your classmates began to pack up to leave the all-girls school. "Emily do you want to come with us?" Your head perked up and your attention was brought to the front of the room.
A group of girls had all coddled around the class president fondly, Emily. She was pretty popular, for always being busy with school...
"I'm sorry I have some things to take care of for our class, maybe next time though!" She smiled, like she always did. Actually, you don't think you had ever seen her frown or be in any kind of distress. How nice. Being so smart and capable, that you never have to worry about your future. Your eyes trailed back down to all the red marks on your paper once more as you sighed.
You started to pack up before hearing a few soft clicks of heels walk up to you. The uniforms here were all the same so when your eyes drifted to the dress shoes that everyone wore, you weren't phased. "Yeah?" You said, continuing to pack up. You reached for your test before a petite gloved hand gently picked it up before you could, that's when you finally thought to look up.
Your eyes widened and your face flushed as you watched the brunette girl skim over your work. "Ah- I-! That's-!" You frantically tried to look for an excuse for your poor grade before her shining eyes then skimmed to your own, which had you subtly go quiet. "You should study more, I know you have it in you." She said with a smile, handing you the paper which you took hesitantly. "Y-yeah..." You smiled wearily back to her, grabbing the paper but she never let go.
"Do you want me to help?"
You unconsciously gripped the paper harder as you shared eye contact with the girl for a minute. "W- but I thought you had to do things for our class?" She let go of your paper and smiled even wider. "I just said that, going out with people isn't really my thing." You tucked the test deep in your bag before holding it over your shoulder. "But helping people study is?" You were sort of lost at that. Emily was the type of person who found Math to be the easiest subject, but instead of being awful at the rest like reading and writing, she was just as good with them. She really was a model student.
"Well I think it's fun, plus it'll just be the two of us." She walked ahead and stopped at the door to wait for you as you shuffled behind. "What's that mean?" Her eyes widened but she still smiled, in her own thoughts. "Oh! Well I think it's easier to teach one person rather than a group of people. That way I can also give you my full attention." She slid to the side, holding the door for you as you walked past her.
"Ah- right..." You don't know what you were expecting her to say, but you were a tad dissatisfied with her answer. "Well where should we go?" She asked, giving you all the right to choose the study place. "W-we could go to my house? I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind a guest if it's for studying." She hummed in agreement, and for the rest of the way you both spoke of your class experiences with each other until you reached home.

"I guess they're not here..." You said softly. You poked your head around only to see no one in your house. "Well, you can go upstairs to my room, I'll get us drinks and snacks." You said, setting your bag down on the table to which she agreed and headed up after taking her shoes off.
