Chapter 1
As Jimin walked into the building, his heart was nearly beating out of his chest. 'You can do this, Jimin,' he thought to himself, gripping the strap of his backpack tightly and pulling his suitcase behind him.
"Um, hi..." he said, approaching the woman at the front desk. She gave him a quick, unimpressed glance before looking back at her computer. Squaring his shoulders, Jimin continued, "I'm Park Jimin. I'm a new trainee. I was told to arrive here this morning."
"Name?" she asked in a monotone voice, her fingers already clicking on the keyboard. She pulled out a list of names, and Jimin tried to peek at it, but there were so many "Parks" on the list that he couldn't tell if his name was one of them.
"Um... Park Jimin..." he repeated, a bit confused. He had just told her his name—how could she forget it in less than three seconds?
The woman scanned the list, taking what felt like forever. In reality, it was only about thirty seconds, but in that time, Jimin's mind ran wild. Did I have the wrong day? Am I in the wrong place? What if I never actually made it into the company? Was it all a dream? A miscommunication? Oh my god... did I come all this way for nothing???
Finally, the woman nodded and continued typing. Jimin's breath started to return to normal. She handed him a small packet and gestured to the left.
"I have you checked in," she said flatly. "There's a small waiting area over there. Have a seat, and someone will be with you shortly."
Jimin sighed in relief. "Thank you," he mumbled, but her expression didn't change.
After taking a seat on a fashionable yet somewhat uncomfortable couch, he sifted through the packet she'd given him. Inside, he found a name badge, some forms, a building map, a color-coded schedule, and a keychain with a single key attached. He picked up the badge and smiled. There it was—his name and picture, right beneath the Big Hit logo.
I did it! he thought, barely containing his excitement. He quietly stomped his feet in a little happy dance, trying to suppress a squeal.
"Park Jimin?" a voice called, snapping him out of his thoughts. He looked up to see a tall, strikingly handsome boy standing in front of him. The boy had black hair that fell over his beautifully shaped brown eyes and full pink lips. Jimin stared for a moment, speechless.
"Are you Park Jimin?" the boy repeated, causing Jimin to shake himself out of his daze.
"Uh, yes! Yes. I'm Park Jimin." He scrambled to his feet, trying not to stumble as he stood up. The boy smiled, and for a second, Jimin felt like he might die—or maybe he had already died and was standing in front of an angel.
"I'm Kang Hyeonjun," the boy introduced himself, reaching out to shake Jimin's hand. "Nice to meet you. You can follow me."
Jimin nodded wordlessly, dragging his suitcase behind him as he followed Hyeonjun down the hall.
After storing his luggage away, Jimin trailed behind Hyeonjun as he pointed out various studios, offices, and practice rooms. Jimin did his best to memorize where everything was, but he already knew he was going to get lost. The building wasn't particularly big or fancy, but there were so many hallways and doors that all looked the same, making it feel like a maze.
After the short tour, Hyeonjun led him down another hallway to an office door. Jimin's heart began to race when he saw the name printed on the door: Bang PD. He was about to meet the CEO of the company, and the thought terrified him.
AN: This is my first FF, so I would love some feedback. This first chapter is really short just to get me started. They should be a bit longer after this.
