The sun shown hot on the fresh summer grass of the Swiss Alps, adding a luminous glow to the fresh refreshing dew sliding down the individual blades of grass. There were little clouds in the sky on that particular day, but the ones that you could see took the most beautiful and abstract shapes the sky had ever seen in years.
"What do you think that one looks like, Bella?" Liechtenstein asked while pointing up at one of the uniquely shaped clouds. Bella had been Liechtenstein's nickname for Belarus ever since they became best friends a few years back. Liechtenstein thought that it was a cute nickname and suited her friend very much, while Belarus never really cared all that much and went along with whatever Liechtenstein wanted to do. (Even though she did think that the nickname sounded a little bit childish, she never said anything as to not hurt Liechtenstein's feelings.)
Belarus gazed up at the clear aqua colored sky above her, turning her focus to the particular cloud Liechtenstein was pointing at. "A knife," she responded simply with no indication of tone in her usual monotone voice. "Ah, I suppose I could see that," Liechtenstein responded, squinting her eyes as hard as she could, attempting to find any attributes about the cloud that resembled a knife. "I think it looks more like a bunny!" The young country exclaimed, giggling as she thought of an adorable little bunny hopping through the sky.
"...When will you grow up?" Belarus jokingly remarked, a small smirk growing on her usually solemn face as she thought about how humorously immature Liechtenstein was around her. Liechtenstein was brought up to act like a proper and impressionable young woman ever since she was taken in by her older brother Switzerland. When she was with Belarus, she truly got to be herself without anyone yelling at her to be more mature or to act more like a proper and sophisticated lady. Her childhood was stripped away from her at a young age, so she enjoyed making up those lost years whenever she was with the person she trusted most, her best friend Belarus.
Liechtenstein giggled at this and scooted closer to her Belarusian friend, feeling close comfort and safety in being close to her only escape from the world. "I'm glad I could spend the day with you, Bella." Liechtenstein sighed as she leaned back and fell back onto the soft grass below her. Belarus said nothing as usual, but leaned back and layed down in the grass next to her Liechtensteiner friend, who was already peacefully busy looking up at the now orange sunset colored sky.
A plethora of daydreams were running through the young girls exceptionally creative and colorful mind, as this was one of the times she could think so freely without any limits created by the adults perfect square box of expectations. Liechtenstein didn't have a box, instead she had a castle, in which she kept her enormous amount of creative talent and ideas locked away with a key that could only be found when she was with Belarus. Belarus glanced to her left where Liechtenstein was, having that same peaceful day dreamy look resting on her relaxed porcelain face.
The golden light of the now setting sun shone delicately on the girls face, enlightening her small petite features that perfectly decorated her undeniably attractive face. Her hair glowed a soft golden color, the sun radiating and enhancing the natural blondness of her short cut hair. Belarus had blonde hair herself, but hers was more of a much pale and inferior platinum blonde compared to Liechtensteins radiant and healthy golden blonde locks. For this she envied her friend for, but in that moment, she couldn't have thought it was any more beautiful.
"Bella, may I ask you a question?" Liechtenstein suddenly asked, snapping Belarus out of her focused and insightful thoughts about her companion. "Oh, um, make it quick." Belarus responded the best she could in that moment, regaining her thoughts as quickly as she could. "Lately...I've been wondering," she started, turning onto her side to face Belarus. Belarus noticed a sudden shift in the girls tone of voice, and turned to her side too so that she could meet her gaze.
