Josh's POV:

----------

Fixing the wig so it faced the right direction, I looked at myself in the mirror. The fake mustache looks stupid. This whole thing looks stupid! I look like an idiot! She'll never fall for this. I ripped the fake mustache off.

"Ow! Aww crap that kills!"

I rubbed my face, feeling the bitter sting that comes from ripping off a bandage. Or in this case, a phony mustache. If I'm going to do this, it has to be believable. I can't mess up again. Alright, let's see what we have so far. I stared at my reflection. A coal colored wig with straight hair sat upon my head, giving me that goth look I needed. My eyes were surrounded with a thick line of eyeliner. Smoky grey eyeshadow made my eyelids droop. On my nose, a fake piercing in the shape of a ring. Black lipstick covered every centimeter of my lips. An artificial spike poked through my left earlobe, giving me a dangerous look. For my clothing, I had on a long, black shirt with a grey skull imprinted in the center. Sagging black skinny jeans hugged my legs. Combat boots the color of the night sky lazily clutched my feet, itching to move and see Jen.

"This is the best I'll ever get it. Now is as good a time as ever to get going. It will be dark soon."

Why are you talking to yourself in the mirror? What do you think is going to happen? Do you suppose your reflection will smirk at you and say, "Looking good, Mr. Handsome. But really, what's up with the goth look?"

"I'm doing this for someone important."

With that, I strode out of the room.

--------------------

"Hi, I'm-"

Act like a goth. You have to talk like a goth. What does a goth sound like? Maybe they sound like they could care less? Or was that a stereotypical surfer? Oh, whatever!

"I need to see some girl named Jen or whatever," I spoke casually, turning my attention to the wall to seem carefree.

The lady at the front desk recognized me immediately. I completely blew my cover.

"Of course, Mr..... I'm sorry, sir. What was your name?" She questioned politely.

Oh no! I forgot about my name! What was my name?! My name..... my name?

"Uh.... I'm... Im The WallMan. My real name's Walter but it's dumb. My dad came up with that name and I hate him for it. It's stupid."

"Ok, Mr. WallMan, I'll contact Miss Lawrence right away and let her know you'd like to see her."

"Yeah, whatever."

"Hello, Miss Lawrence. There's a Mr. Walter who requests to see you," she spoke into the phone. (Pause). "Yes, Miss Lawrence, he seems like a very nice young man. He seems anxious to see you. I think it's important, but that's none of my business. Shall I send him up?" (Pause). "Alright, wonderful, I'll send him up." She hung up the phone. "Ok, WallMan, this might be your last chance to fix something."

With a wink from her and a grateful nod from me, I set off to see Jen.
