Asuma x Kurenai

Chapter 1: How it all began

It was a fine day at Konoha. The Academy graduates are getting picked for their genin teams today. The sensei called.

Sensei: ....all right, for Team 6, we have Sarutobi Asuma, Might Guy, and Kurenai Yuhi.

Asuma's pov: Hmm. Not bad...

Guy: Sensei! This is a big mistake, I should be in Kakashi's team, for he is my eternal rival!

Sensei: Now now, I didn't put you in your respective teams. The hokage did. If you have any complaints you can schedule an appointment with him later. Is that clear?

Guy doesn't respond and his cheeks slightly blushed.

Sensei: All right, for Team 11, we have Mitarashi Anko.....

-After mentioning all teams and their assigned rooms-

Sensei: I have give you your assigned rooms, you may now go home and come back later at 1pm.

A couple of hours later, the three genin are in their assigned room. Just in time, their sensei finally came.

Idaku: Hello ya'll I'm Yakushi Idaku, and I'm your Jonin Sensei.

All three: Hello.

Idaku: Why don't we go outside, its better to know each other outside in the nature.

The four shinobis got outside the academy and arrived at Traning ground 5.

Idaku: So, why don't we all introduce ourselves? Let's start with you, bushy brow. Guy gritted his teeth with what his sensei just called him. He breathes and finally talks.

Guy: I am Might Guy, and my eternal rival is Hatake Kakashi! And my dream is to become a fine shinobi, for that is my nindo, my ninja way!

Idaku: Hm okay. Next, you girl.

Kurenai: Its Yuhi, Kurenai. And all I ever dreamed of is serving and protectung Konoha as long as I live. And I am expecting to learn a lot from you in order to do that, sensei.

Idaku: Hm. Nice. Ofcourse ya will. And last, you.
He says pointing at Asuma.

Asuma: I'm Sarutobi Asuma, part of the Sarutobi clan obviously. I just wanted to protect Konoha as well, like my tou-san.

Idaku: Oh, you're the hokage's son. But that doesn't mean I'll go easy on you. All right, that all quite for today, see you all tomorrow back here, 7am sharp. Got it?

All three nodded and walked away, but then Asuma held Kurenai's hand.

Asuma: Uh hey, wait up Kurenai.

Kurenai looks back to him.

Kurenai: Uh, yes?

Asuma: Are....you on your way home?

Kurenai: Yes actually, why?

Asuma: May I escort you?

Kurenai: Oh uh sure. Let's go.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the Yuhis' home, and Asuma made sure Kurenai walks back home safely.

Asuma: So uh, see you tomorrow?

Kurenai: Yeah, thanks.

They parted ways as Asuma developed a small blush on his face.

This went on everyday after training, Asuma always makes sure HE is the one who escorts Kurenai back home.

Asuma: Here we are m'lady.
He gives a bow as if he is a prince courting a princess. Kurenai giggles in return.

Kurenai: Haha, thanks again, baka.

Asuma: Heh. Well goodbye now. See ya tomorrow, m'lady.

Asuma walks down the street, he then sensed that someone was following him, so he got his kunai out. He called,

Asuma: I know you're following me. Who are you?

A teen goes out of the shadows then starts to speak.

Guy: Whoa there, you youthful disgrace. It is just me.

Asuma: Oh. What are you doing here.
He says as he let his guard down.

Guy: Sooooo, why are you always escorting our youthful comrade?

Asuma: It's none of your business.
He says as he turns back the way he was supposed to go.

Guy: Whoa wait hold up! I wanna help ya, don't ya wanna steal her heart 😏

Asuma: Uh yeah, but we're only like 14. Its too early.

Guy: Oh come on! Enjoy your youth! You never know, another man might be courting her.

Asuma sensed a tingle of realization.

Asuma: Ugh fine. Let's do it tomorrow.

Guy: Alright that's my man Asuma! So, here's what you're gonna do.
He says whuspering to his comrade's ear, making sure no one else will hear them.
