Y/N POV:

11 long years kept in an old worn down cabin, not able to see anyone and not able to do anything. Father refuses to explain why he just responds with "Because I said so". He never explains anything, he's always been secretive. He doesn't like to talk about feelings or anything...it must be hard for him. Mother was his everything and ever since she died he hasn't talked to anybody. I try to talk to him about it but he just gets angry and yells. And when he becomes angry he drinks and drinking gets him even more irritated so I tend to avoid that subject. The only thing I know is that Mother died when I was 4 but I'm not sure how.

Another letter arrived today that reads "The first room to the right, 104 Woodbay cabin, Hackney, LONDON.". My room, my address. The same exact letter has been arriving for the past 4 years. Father tells me if they say "Hogwarts" to leave them alone and to not open them. Since the very first letter arrived I have been curious. After a while, I found out that Hogwarts is a school for special people who are able to do magic. I always knew I was special, mother always said it, but I never thought I was a witch. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching myself some of the things they teach at Hogwarts and have become quite a good witch if I must say so. Father doesn't know I have been teaching myself, he hated it when I used to make the flowers grow or make the books fly so I haven't yet told him. I'm planning on asking him if I can be enrolled into Hogwarts...

The Next Day

I woke up had breakfast and waited on the sofa for father to come back. I'm planning on asking him if I can go to Hogwarts and maybe show him some of the magic I'm able to do..his reaction is unpredictable I hope it goes well...

A few hours passed and father finally came home. "Father!" I yelled excitedly. He smiled slightly and said "I have no time to talk right now Y/N" He walked past me swiftly. I ran after him eagerly "But it's important!!" I shouted. "How important?" he replied with an annoyed tone. "very important" I said and grabbed his arm dragging him to the sofa. "what is it?" he asked. I sat him down and explained why I wanted to go to Hogwarts. "HOGWARTS?! WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT HORRIBLE PLACE?!" he yelled. "I did research father...and I've also caught up to 4th-year magic.." I replied in a calm tone. I pulled out my wand and pointed it at the vase and said "Wingardium Leviosa!". The vase lifted in the air. Father whacked the wand out of my hand. "NO MAGIC IN MY HOUSE!!" he spat and stormed to his room slamming the door behind him.

I picked up my wand and ran to my room. I lay on my bed staring at the ceiling thinking about the times father and I would get along. Tears rolled down my cheeks and onto my pillow. I closed my eyes and drifted into a deep sleep dreaming about all the amazing things I could do if I went to Hogwarts.

Father woke me up early hours of the morning and told me to get dressed. "why father?" I questioned. "I've decided to allow you to go to Hogwarts" he replied with a wide smile spread across his face. I shot up and hugged father tightly "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I squealed "but what made you change your mind?". "I've been a terrible father since mother has passed and I feel like you need to be happy," he said. I hugged him even tighter. "Hurry up and get ready! Tomorrow is the day where you go to Hogwarts, we need to get your stuff." he said, smiling. "okay!" I replied happily and shoved father out of the door. I grabbed some clothes, shoved them on and ran into the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth.

I rushed out and pounded on fathers door. "Father!! I'm ready!!" I yelled "Alright kiddo! wait outside!!" he replied. I sprinted outside and waited excitedly for father. He walked out "We are going to diagonally! That's where we are going to get all your things okay?" he asked "Alright!" I said. We got onto a train and father led me to a weird building that looked like some sort of pub. He said hello to many people and there were whispers going around, I caught my name being passed around a few times and I grabbed fathers arm "Father, how do you know these people?". "They are my friends y/n! I come here on a Friday and drink with them" He replied. "Oh, Okay". We continued to pass through them and we got to a brick wall. Father took a wand from his belt and tapped the brick wall, the wall opened up to a quiet place full of shops. "It's usually busy here but we are quite early" he said.
