Zachariel's P.O.V

I forgot to contact Alexei the next morning. It was maybe because no one had ever fancied me before. I had always been the pursuer. I didn't know what the right etiquette for dating someone as forceful as Alexei was. I was a teen when I started a relationship with Andrew. He was easy to please. I just had to give him some money to make him the happiest man in the world. That method would never work on Alexei. The man was a billionaire. Zavier was having breakfast by the time I got ready for work. I frowned when I heard him ask me, "Do you have any plans for Valentine's day, Zach?" I got my emotions under control, then answered Zavier with, "No, Zavier. I'll be celebrating Valentine's day in bed. Having a good rest is important too."

Zavier chuckled, then responded to me with, "I got invited to a Valentine's day party, Zach. I would like you to join me. My friends have been eagerly waiting to meet you." I sighed then responded to Zavier with, "I can meet your friends some other time, Zavier. It wouldn't be wise of me to attend a party while knowing that I had to work the next day." Zavier shook his head while finishing his food. I put my hand on Zavier's shoulder, then said to him, "It's not like I don't want to get involved in your social life, Zavier. I'm sure that you have amazing friends. I'll do my best to meet them soon." Zavier finally smiled. I ruffled his hair, then added, "I'll be home late tonight. Don't wait for me." Zavier knew that I often visited the youth center after work. He didn't deem it necessary to question me.

Emma was waiting for me in the lobby when I arrived at work. She smiled broadly at me while handing me an invitation card. I sighed in relief when I saw that she wasn't renewing her vows on Valentine's day. It was like Emma had read my mind. She chuckled, then uttered, "Yeah, I was afraid that no one would come if I held the ceremony on Valentine's day. You can bring your partner with you if you like, Zach." I could see that Emma was trying to get information out of me. I put the invitation card away, then said to Emma, "You already know that I'm as single as a Pringle, Emma. I won't be bringing anyone with me to your wedding." Emma gasped dramatically, then stated, "I can fix you up with someone if you like, Zach." I shook my head, then responded to Emma with, "No, thanks, Emma. I'm good. See you later."

I chuckled when I heard Emma yell, "Email me your preference, Zach. I'll start searching immediately!" I knew that Emma was joking, so I didn't mind her words. I pushed the incident to the back of my mind, then started working. Briac didn't come to work that day. I didn't know if he was sick or if he was on vacation. Marla had left a stack of files on my desk. It took me hours to examine all the documents. I quickly grabbed my laptop when I saw that it was lunchtime. I walked to the headquarters ' private garden, then turned on my computer. I knew that it was safe to operate in the garden because no one ever visited the place. Everyone preferred relaxing on the building's rooftop terrace. "I hope that Ocean has turned on her laptop and the television in the living room like she was supposed to," I said to myself while establishing the Internet connection.

I smiled when I saw the kids playing with toys in the living room. They hadn't even realized that  the image on the television had changed. The children gasped when I yelled, "Hi, munchkins!" They all turned around to look at the screen in shock. Ocean burst out laughing when she saw their reaction. The children ran to the television while squealing. They then asked me in unison, "How is this possible, uncle Zachariel?" I smirked at the kids, then answered them with, "It's a secret, kiddos. Your father will probably get mad at me if he finds out about it." I chuckled when I heard Genevieve say, "Don't worry, uncle Zachariel. We won't tell him." I then noticed that Dominique was hiding behind Jacques. "Is your finger okay, Dominique?" I asked the little boy in concern. Ocean had already texted me that the bird hadn't severely injured Dominique. I couldn't comprehend why the boy was hiding from me. Dominique peeked from behind Jacques, then nodded at me. My heart skipped a beat when I heard him ask me, "Did you leave yesterday because you were mad at me for being naughty, uncle Zachariel?"
