There is a line between love and dependency.

And it should not be crossed or be blurred at any cost.

Though, how many times had love been associated with malice intent? How many times had it been robbed of its purity?

We know nothing of such, just theories and studies which indicate that it depends from person to person. No reliability of academic study, but more on a subjective point of view based on the collective samples from interviewed volunteers.

What we know of love is selfless, open, free, kind, so on. But it can also be selfish, isolated, and one-sided at some point. Therefore, love cannot be as pure as we were taught. It is neither a feeling nor an action. Rather, a necessity for one's own survival in this world - an ingredient to various skills a person is required to learn.

Being dependent on the other hand is to rely on someone else's skills or support in order to learn and grow. A guidance to be independent, and to be self-reliant on many challenges one has to face ahead in life.

So, where does the line go in between love and dependency?

Let's look into a case study by Dr. [REDACTED] about two individuals observed with a diagnosis of [REDACTED] to get more information about this topic.

It was a difficult time.

Deadline for this article was near, and they had to pull a couple of all-nighters just to finish it.

What a sad topic to discuss and publish, was what crossed their mind. I guess not all are that privileged.

With a final look, they saved the file then shut their computer down. The chair creaked as they stood up. First light of dawn hit their eye and winced, bending a bit to cover it. As they look outside their window, a phone vibrated by the bedside.

The ringtone chimed, signalling that it was time to go to bed. Reversed alarm, a funny term they came up with.

Have to edit it later then submit. Ugh, what a pain, groaning, they dragged their feet to the bed.

Tucking in, they turned the lamp off as the wind lulled them to sleep.
