{Death Keeps Knocking On My Door}
"THIS IS NOT A 'HEAT OF THE MOMENT' THING."
***
Her breathing was heavy and quick.
The burning sensation in her chest would never subside.
The thin branches of trees smacked against her face causing stinging cuts to form from the burning blows.
Her legs were painfully sore from the speed it took her to get as far as she could from him.
Far as she could, but not far enough.
She was then again the small little child who couldn't get away from the beast that took the form of her foster father.
She wasn't in the wooded area of the Salvatore Boarding School anymore, she was now back in Philadelphia.
The area was no longer cold but instead hot, thick, and full of smelly smoke.
She has always hated the smell of smoke. Yet she became a heavy smoker at the age from the age of 14.
It's odd how things change as life goes on.
She was roaming the cramped halls of the trashy house with cracks on the walls, and mold in the crevices of the floors. She was not running around the house or out of the door, which was her first mistake.
She was not running nor hiding, but he found and caught her.
His grip on her small childish arms was awfully tight as he dragged her to his bedroom.
She struggled, her breathing increasing, her palms getting sweaty, and her heart beating out of her chest as they approached that one room.
The halls appeared awfully small as if they were attempting to sandwich her between their cracked paint.
The door to his room was getting larger, and the stench of the smoke was becoming all the more pungent.
Why didn't she scream?
Why couldn't she scream?
She has a mouth, doesn't she?
He opened the door to his room, tears beginning to form in the young girl's eyes as he roughly pushed her inside.
A whimper escaped her lips, but not a scream.
Why couldn't she scream?
She watched as she locked the door behind him, and walked towards her with a malicious, perverted look in his eyes.
