I just stare blatantly at the girl before me.

Her cheek appeared swollen and she looked like she's having a tranquil nap despite her almost voilet bruise. Now I'm confused wether to wake her up because school has ended or not disturb her peaceful sleep. There are new rumours spreading around about her meeting a member of the Detroits and fighting them. Again...?

I sat beside her and opt to not cancel out my usual routine to sit here and stare at the sky whenever school ends. I felt her flinch for a moment and I shift my head towards her keeping silent while she finally woke up.

She gradually sat up straight scratching her head and turned to me unabashed. I frowned and we both just kept staring at each other.

"You okay" I asked or more like stated with concern. She held her hand up to her cheek almost as if she just realized she was injured. She flinched for a moment but then just shrugged as a reply.

"Jayden." She breathed. I look back at her and just scratched my forearm not knowing what to do. Should I send her to the clinic?

"Yeah..." I murmured. She looked around as if she's never been here before and looked back at me.

"What time is it?"

"2 something. You shouldn't skip class Vyl. You've just added more trouble to your current situation..." I state with heed and she showed an uncanny expression.

"Why?"

"Why you ask.....Someone saw you get beaten up by a member of the Detroits. And now rumours about how you're being targeted by them and even how you have an intimate relationship with the guy are starting to spread."

I myself couldn't believe it. I cant imagine her having an intimate relationship with anyone at all. All of a sudden I saw her smile sardonically and I stare at her confused.

"Is everyone stupid?"

"What?"

"He just fucking punched me in the face, how is that considered as having an intimate relationship?" She spat her words like a snake and I had this sudden urge to just not move and stay still. Nebulous thoughts start to go through my mind.

"I have no idea. It's a misunderstanding so..."

"Hm." She replied shortly and silence immediately engulfed us. I flit my gaze to this empty field filled with grass while apprehensively playing with my fingers. It always was this nervewracking to be near her but that's what makes it exciting. I glance to find her also looking somewhere else with a relaxed expression on her face. I go back to looking at the field because of her ugly bruise.

That bruise is too voilet it makes me want to puke. Sometimes I just wish she would stop fighting and offending people.

And when she does speak unpleasant words to me about a person or an event, it makes me wonder why I talk to her. Does she speak like this to everybody else? I hardly ever hear her say anything good about her life.

"Hey Vyl. Why?" I turn back to find her swiveling her head to me with an arched brow.

"What?"

"Why?" I reiterate, but this time a bit too fervid. She seemed bewildered although it was masked by her bravado-like features and soon softened her expression. Her lips curved despite showing very little of her smile and shrugged.

"I dont know."

"Oh my god what happen to you?!?" Mom eagerly went over to me and held my cheek, hence recoiling to her touch. I closed the door behind me and faced her with a frowned expression trying to keep her calm.
