Chapter 9

I propped myself up into a sitting position, “Petru did you have to pierce so close to my heart and lung.”

“I am sorry my lady but it had to look believable.”

I could hear some of the alphas talking in the background on the exchange, I didn’t care much as I rose to my feet, Lakota rushed to me and both he and the pups latched onto me. Takoda came up along with my brother, Takoda started touching were the cut was but all I did was wince, “Can you not touch it, it’s still tender.”

Takoda bowed his head to me as he turned to the growling slayers, “You see I knew that if anyone of my men tried to walk into your forces they would never be trusted, so when we heard of the plot all those years ago, the princess and I came up with a plan, one of our closest friends would hide among the ranks and gain all of your trust. It took six years but it finally paid off, we know the numbers of your troops.”

Nathanial growled at Takoda that he almost shifted if it wasn’t for a boy not even two years older than I, who I haven’t seen since the night he dumped me in the woods. Darcia was just as how I remembered him, I could feel myself shaking as I looked at this man, “Rozen it’s good to see you, now why don’t you and the pups come quietly.”

I almost did as he asked if it wasn’t for Lakota who stepped in front of me, “She will not be going with you and neither will the pups.”

Darcia growled at my mate and almost made a move to attack him, if it wasn’t for the pups getting in front of him and growling but what shocked me was that instead of Michel but Mia that spoke up, “You leave mommy and daddy alone, mommy don’t want to go with you.”

I smiled at my pups as they continued to growl at Darcia. I could tell that the last of his patience was gone as he shifted and attacked the pups but I was quicker I shifted and pushed him away, I knew I couldn’t continue to live in fear of this man, so for once I stood up for myself. Every time that he made a move to attack the pups or Lakota I would block him, I finally wounded him enough that I could shift back, “Darcia as long as I live you will never have my pups or harm my mate.”

I turned toward the alphas as my brother faced the slayers, “I am Rozen Amelia Romanov Night; and I am Matthew Malik Romanov Night, we are the children of King Alexzander and Queen Lyla.”

I could hear a few collective gasps from the alphas as they realized what they called me almost was the death of them all. An old wolf step forward, “You believe because you say some names we’ll believe you?”

I chuckled at the old man, “Believe what you want but how would two strange children be able to tell were traps were located, how to disarm them, even get onto the roof of the castle without anyone seeing them, and how the royal guard and head servant acted toward them, I mean come on Romanian is kind of hard to learn and takes years to be able to get it sounding correctly.”

The slayers growled at my brother and I as I spoke but I didn’t bat an eye at them, “Are you implying on what is spoken is false but what can you expect from a pack of murders, are you bringing your war early or do we still have five days as you gave your word.”

Nathanial growled before answering, “You still have five days but be warned any who side with the royals will die.”

With that said they exited back into the woods.

My brother still faced towards the woods because we both could still feel their presence, I turned towards Lakota and Takoda, “You guys head toward the other alphas.”

With that said I started inching towards the control panel for the traps as the others started walking toward the alphas. I was almost to the panel when three male wolves rushed from the trees toward me, I ran the rest of the way to the panel. Activating them just as one of the wolves ran onto a spiked pit, falling in; I scrambled to my feet as I made my way towards the castle. Memories of the past playing through my mind, I was weak then but this time I was determined to protect those I care for. I could feel one of the wolves on my heels so I purposely stepped on a trap that shots up spears, jumping past is at the last moment and watching as the wolf was skewered, I turned to the last wolf as he lunged for me. I pulled out my sword and fought off the wolf with finally piercing him in the chest, I looked at myself to see that the wolf was able to scratch my leg; breathing heavily I limped to Lakota. He rushed forward and picked me up bridal style just as Maggi came rushing out with a wet cloth and bandages, “printesa, I bring bandage, you nebun for endangering self, what would little printesa and Domnitorului do without mother?”

I looked at Maggi as she wrapped the cut but I could tell that Lakota was concerned about the blood that was coming from my back. I looked at him wanting him to understand that he was not to mention it but Michel beat him to it, “Maggi, mommy has a cut on her back.”

With that Maggi had Lakota but me down as she cut my shirt, Lakota growled at her but she wasn’t fazed, “Boy, I have met males more powerful, you puppy.”

I chuckled at the Maggi because the only males she has dealt with were my father and any guard members whose mates were injured. I could hear many talking about my tattoo, the tattoo that can be found on any royal family member, the image but they have their own unique design to them mine was that of a crescent moon surrounded by lines with random flowers along those lines. My brothers is the same but without the flowers and the moon had a howling wolf in it, other than the lines and moon this tattoo is completely unique. I don’t have to worry about my pups receiving theirs until they turn 16, usually they appear when they first shift but they are too young. I turned towards Petru and Takoda, “Well you two you heard leader crazy, we need to gather people that will help fight against them, and no I’m not sitting this out. I’m tired of running.”

They both nodded as Maggi looked at me, “printesa is wise to fight; you have young ones.”

“Maggi I know your worried but I’m fighting to protect them and all those other pups, you know what those bastards would do if they got a hold on any pup.”

As I finished speaking I saw a she wolf step from the gate entrance and on further inspection I saw that she was with pup. Matt rose to his feet and made his way to the girl with Petru following behind, she looked around a moment before seeing Petru and Matt. She rushed to the best of her ability before she latched on to my brother; I stared at this girl for a moment before I remembered her as Petru’s daughter. I rose to my feet and when I did I could smell royal blood, when I turned more towards the girl I realized that the pup she was carrying was my brother’s pup.
