Chapter 19 - Flashback Story

Padabog kong sinara yung pintuan ng kotse namin..

"What's with the frown face dear?" tanong ni mommy

Umupo lang ako sa terrace bago pumasok para magpahangin

"Dear?" Alam kong naghihintay ng sagot si mommy

"Because Kuya didn't tell me that he know that annoying guy in school" sabi ko nang hinahampas yung upuan ko

Nakita kong nakangiti si mommy

"Ma? What's with that smile?" i ask my mom

"Kuya is full of surprises, isn't it thrilling? Let it happen. Be with the person you hate. And that makes your life, A LIFE" wow. I didn't imagine my mom telling me this kind of things..

"ma.." tumigil si mommy sa pagsasalita

"ok, anak.. I know you're tired. Go get some rest" at pumasok na ako sa loob.

"Oh anak, andyan ka na pala. Kamusta school?" 

Is this happening??

My parents are so early to leave their work? What's happening?

"Im ok pa.." tapos dare-daretso ako pumasok sa room ko. They are so weird. 

"haaaaay. Nakakasura talaga yung lalaking yun. He's getting into my nerves!" gulo ko pa sa buhok ko habang nakahiga sa kama. He's so irritating. Bahala na nga siya..

So, i wear my pambahay na at

zzzzzZZZZZZ.....

*tok tok*

"Czarina... we will have our dinner na!" 

mmmmm. antok pa ako

"Czarina, may bisita tayo. Get yourself be presentable." utos ni mommy.

Bisita? Why do I have to be presentable, eh nasa bahay NAMIN sila. Wether they like it or not, I'll dress kung anong gusto ko. Wala silang magagawa. 

Pumunta na ako sa living room..

"Czarina.. I want you to meet Tita Amanda and Tito Gerald" And who are they? 

Nakipagbeso-beso ako para sign of respect.

"Ang ganda ng anak mo ha" pagpuri ni Tita Amanda..

"tsss" parang pamilyar ang boses nun sa akin ah

Lumingon ako sa pintuan kung saan nanggagaling yung pamilyar na boses na yun.

"You?!" pasigaw na sabi ko

"why iha? Is there something wrong?" tanong ni Tita Amanda

"nothing tita. He's my classmate and a friend of mine" in-emphasize ko ung A FRIEND OF MINE and guess what he smirk at me.

"well, isn't that good?" sabay akbay sa akin nang mommy niya at now we're heading sa dining table

"so mom, is there any occasion?" tanong ko kay mommy kasi bihira lang magkaroon nang ganito sa bahay namin. And they came home early just for this? 

"nothing, I just want you to meet our new business partners besides my kumare." Yeah. Sa daming kumare ni mommy dito sa lugar namin eh pwede na siyang tumakbo sa election. Pero meron si mommy na kumare na bestfriend niya daw since highschool na kakalipat lang sa subdivision namin. And I haven't heard of them before. Maybe pupunta sila dito sa isang linggo. We'll see. 

"kain na po tayo" Alok ko sa kanila pero hindi kay Kevin. Binelatan ko siya at ayun, umupo na siya. Yeah, we're having a sit-down dinner. Kung ako ang tatanungin I prefer to have a barbeque dinner outside so I can't join them. But mom decide na ganito para pormal.

At kamalas malasan, pinaupo ni Tita Amanda si Kevin sa harapan ko. Magkaharapan kami ngayon. Hindi ata ako makakakain ng ayos nito eh.

"So, how's Kevin at school Czarina? " Tita Amanda ask me. Will I tell the truth that Kevin is getting into my nerves? Or will I tell a lie. Syempre, ayoko namang mapahiya si Tita Amanda at Tito Gerald sa harapan nina mommy and papa. Na sobrang nakakainis yung anak niya so....

"He's kind. Very sipag po siya tita. He even teach me sometimes at math or science." What a good lie I give! Now, you owe me one Kevin. Nakita kong napa-sigh siya kasi akala niya binuko ko na siya. I'll never do that. I'm a Perez. That's not on my list. 

"Really? That's cool. You know my son is really industrious" i gave tita a nod and a fake smile to agree na lang. Ku! Tita Amanda, kung alam niyo lang po.

After that dinner, hindi pa sila naalis...

Nasa terrace lang ako to breathe some fresh air. Ayoko sa loob masyadong business matter and usapan nila. They never get tired of working and working

 "Thanks" napatingin bigla ako sa nagsalita. Kakagulat kasi. Hindi ako nagsalita

"Bakit mo ginawa yun?" He ask me. At hindi pa rin ako nasagot

"Ok. Ok. I know I made a bad impression to you for the very first time" - Kevin

"buti alam mo" mahina kong sabi

"So here I am, sorry for what I have done wrong. So can we start all over again?" He ask. WHAT?! Am I dreaming?! This Kevin is saying sorry infront of me? Is he nut?!

Pero nung tumingin ako sa kanya naka-bow yung head niya. Does he mean it? Now, let's try

I held his hand for a handshake

"We can start all over again" then I smile then he gave me a smile too. Ayos naman pala itong taong ito eh.

Then we sit down together sa couch sa terrace namin..

"Siguro kapag sinabi mo yung totoo sa mom ko, she'll get mad. Totally mad. She will be a bursting monster." then we laugh. Grabe maka-describe itong si Kevin. I can say that he totally love his mom, sarcastically. We keep on laughing and laughing

"At siguro, namumula na ang pwet ko kapag narinig niya yun" natatawang sabi niya. 

"Kaya, salamat talaga." At nakita kong tumingin siya sa akin nang nakangiti but I'm not looking at him. 

"So yeah, we have to go. Masyado nang gabi." Tita Amanda kiss my mom and my papa sa cheeks as a sign of goodbye.

"Thanks pare" paalam naman ni Tito Gerald.

Pumunta ako sa pwesto ni papa.

"I have a good time having a dinner with you guys" sabi ni papa

At pag tingin ko kay Kevin 

"thanks" He utter.

Siguro talagang thankful siya. Siguro totoo yung sinasabi niya na sobrang magagalit yung mom niya sa kanya pag ganoon yung nalaman tungkol sa kanya.

"So is he the one who's getting into your nerves?" surprisingly, si mom hindi pa pala pumapasok ng bahay.

"Yeah" then i rolled my eyes

"and now?" 

"he's my friend." i spill it out. The words are really coming out of my mouth?!

"that's better" at pumasok na si mommy sa loob ng bahay.

I think my mom is right. I think if we're better as friends and not as enemy. Not because our parents is a business partners but to let each other be friends and know more his REAL personality.
