Always Forever

It was new year's day which meant new year, new plans for Julia. As fireworks explode and sparkled in the sky and everyone cheered and cried with their loved ones, Julia wanted nothing more than to be with Ryan. Ryan who was Julia's childhood best friend that she had been in love with since 6th grade and they've been inseparable ever since. However the new year would bring them to a end since they were graduating high school. Well that wasn't Julia's plan since she was going to make to Ryan fall in love with her. As her family celebrated the new year Julia ran up to her bedroom and face times the group chat with all of her friends from school. The screen loads as everyone answers the call the first one to pick up the call was Ryan himself.

"Happy new year's Jules!" Ryan said screaming into the phone. Julia fell in love with the sight of Ryan outside in the cold frosty night seeing his eyes glisten as the fireworks explode from a distance in front of his face. "Happy new year's Ryan, how's everything going?" before Ryan is able to answer his screen minimizes as her other friends finally join the call and the phrase "happy new year's" repeats and echos as everyone joins. Julia frowns as she wished she had more time alone with her friend. They all continued the call talking about their new plans for the year as others hyped each other. As time went on, one by one each friend filtered out of the call until Ryan and Julia were the only ones left in the call. They both lied in bed half asleep muttering to each other sentences they wouldn't remember the next day.

"Hey Jules, there's this song that I just found recently and for some reason it reminded me of you."

"Oh really? Show me it? We can listen to it together." Ryan sends the song to Julia and she clicks the link and song plays quietly in back round of the call.

"Ah, yes I've heard of this song. I love it." The two both hum the instrumental of the song as they both fade into a deep sleep. "Jules?" Ryan mutters in a deep raspy voice. "Yeah?" she asks with tired fluttery eyes. "You and me always forever." He says with a smile. Jules however wasn't able to properly respond to this as she falls into a deep slumber with the sentence "You and me always forever." echoing in her head.

The next morning Julia woke up to her laptop being completely dead. With a sigh she crawls out of bed and goes to her sister's room to tell her what happened last night.

"Syd! You'll never believe what happened last night!" her older sister turns towards her rolling her eyes.

"You didn't even bother to knock on my door."

"It was opened anyways sooo.." An awkward silence fills the room.

"Alright say what you need to say."

"Ryan and I were on call last time and we kind of had a moment." Julia goes on about what happened before they fell asleep.

"And then he said you and me always forever, isn't that cute?!"

"Jules, do you think he actually meant it? Like what if he was just singing along to the song or something, I have a feeling the kid doesn't even like you like that." Jules pouts at her statement.

"So? Why would he say something like that. I think it's pretty obvious at this point." Without her older sister even saying anything Julia turns and goes back into her bedroom to get ready for her father's speech as a mayor. The one thing that Jules liked about her bedroom was that the placement of her room was next to Ryan's room and she could see into his bedroom if she really wanted. Sometimes instead talking on the phone they would talk through their windows. Julia would sometimes take advantage of the fact that she could see into Ryan's room as she peek out her window to see what he was up to. Sometimes it would be him doing homework, or cleaning his room or even him getting dressed. Somehow he never caught her simply because he never even thought of it. This would be something she would keep to herself of course since she would be called a creep. However every evening when she would get ready for bed she would catch him changing into his comfy clothes. At first she would look away but time after time she became more intrigued and curious so she'd take peeks until she would actually watch him through her sheer linen curtains.
