ELLIES POV.
I stare into the book, my mothers handwriting looked so much like mine.
I tear softly drips down my face as I see the part about how she wants a daughter.
Dear Daughter,
I'm your mom, Elizabeth. I mostly like to be called Ellie though. When your older I want to let you know I love you more than ever. I'll always be there for you my sweet darling
Love,
Mommy.A bunch of more tears come down as I read down the cream colored pages with rips in them.
I read a part when she says "I don't want to be homeless" and chuckle a bit.
I look through entry's about a son she wants.
My mom had written down names of what she liked for a boy and girl.
For my lovely daughter
I love the names
Rachel
Michelle
Madi
Faith
Elizabeth (after me)I look and see my name on the list. It made me happy and sad at the same time. I mean, I am named after my mother when she died.
She died minutes after I was born. All I know was she got to hold me in her last minutes, and gave me and my father a huge kiss. She knew it was going to happen, she just wanted to say goodbye one last time.
Sometimes I wish I could visit her, in heaven.
I go to a empty page in the back.
Dear Mommy,
It's been 20 years since you died. I miss you so much, I never really got to see your face or see you smile. Maybe I did, but I forgot. Why would I remember? I was barely a couple minutes old. I still think of you. All the time. I have a friend who says in the pictures I look like you, dad says that too. I miss you so much. Everyone says I would've loved you, you were the kind of person to... love. Love more than anything. I want to let you know that Dad's being good. I mean, you probably were worried about him with me. I'm pretty crazy. I want to be just like you :).
Love,
Elizabeth Marie BennettI read about how she wanted to get married at the age of 24. How she wanted 3 kids, any gender. She wanted to be in a house that wasn't to big, but not to small. She wanted a life that I could live.
I can make it come true.
I hear the door open from my front door, as I run downstairs I see my dad.
"yellow!" My dad says holding his work things and a bag of food.
"Hello dad! I see you have food"
"Yes sir I do. Come in the kitchen"
"Okay, what did you get me?"
" I got you some sesame chicken"I grab my plastic box from the bag and took my first bite: AMAZING!
"Anyways, dad. I found the notebook from mom"
He looks at me that looked like shock.
"Why is it so bad?"
"It's not bad, It's just I was going to give it too you once you moved out. later if life"
"Wait why?"
"I don't know, I just wanted you to be prepared for all of this. Its a book with lots of things, that maybe you might not be able to handle"
"I am considered a adult though, dad"
"True, but it's just. I didn't want you to be so caught up in it. You'll find yourself wanting to be a replica of her"I roll my eyes.
