I woke up blinded by the sunlight hitting my face, for a moment I thought I was going blind, I turned my body around burring my face into my pillow protecting my eyes from the sun rays .I had no idea what time it was and i simply didn’t care. Images from my diner with Conor at Nandos kept repeating in my head, But the part that repeated the most was when he kissed me on the cheek. I smiled like an idiot thinking about that moment over and over again. My mum dashed into the room which nearly scared the crap outta me, well I’m glad she’s home anyways.
“Lou get up! Your friend Austin is here”
My friend Austin? Since when did I have a friend called Austin? , Unless he was a friend from childhood, but I hardly remember anything from back then. I muttered something under my pillow as I was too lazy to get up , I still had to fix my hair change clothes , brush my teeth etc. I let out a sigh and sat on my bed, I grabbed my phone to check if i had any new messages or any missed calls.
-2 NEW MESSAGES-
Recognizing the number, I knew straight away that it was from Conor.
“Had an amazing time with you yesterday hope we can meet up soon x “
“Tomorrow I’m free in the afternoon , maybe we can hang then x”
I quickly replied to his text before getting up and getting ready, well since i’m not going anywhere i decided to wear my cream top, black jeans and my Converse. I walked into the bathroom and checked myself in the mirror. Gosh I looked awful
I picked up my brush and a couple of hair bands and started bushing my hair. I then tied it in a messy bun . Once I was finished I walked downstairs to see this Austin. My mother realised i walked into the room so she stood up and put her hands on my shoulders.
“Well Mary and Austin this is Louise”.
I let out an awkward smile since I didn’t know these people, or even remembered them , The boy stood up, he had brown hair and green eyes. He was so hot, Wait did I just say that?. It seemed that he didn’t know if I wanted a hug or a hand shake. I walked up to him and hugged him
“Nice to meet you Austin”
He laughed a little.
“So I see you’ve forgotten about me haven’t you?”
The truth is, I really didn’t remember him and I feel bad. I’m surprised that he even remembered me. I nodded as a reply to his question and when I did he got out something from his pocket and showed it to me. It was a heart shaped locket.
“You see , you gave this to me so I would never forget you..Or in case you forgot about me then this would remind you of the great times we had together when we were kids”
He opened the locket and inside it had a picture of me and him when we were kids, Now it all came back to me. Me and Austin weren’t just childhood friends, but he was my first love the one I adored so much, The one who swept me of my feet of the floor first. Obviously things changed from then on and I don’t feel nothing for him yet. But i do feel something for Conor
“Now I remember...Those were good days”
I smiled softly as all the memories came back to me , Austin gave put the locket in my hand and smiled.
“Yup nothing beats the good old days” he let out a small laugh
Nothing truly does beat the good old days, but there’s one person who lights up my world right now and that’s Conor. I hope that with Austin in the picture things won’t change, even though nobody really knows that me and Conor have had dinner at Nandos and are going to meet up tomorrow. It’s not like Conor is going to fall in love with me anyways so I guess there’s nothing to worry about.
