Chapter 20: As Sweet As Cake

Ginger was walking around the city, when she smelled the sweet air of cakes.

"Hm? I didn't know that they had a bakery here before." Ginger said as she walked inside the bakery

The surrounding air made Ginger feel happy, "Mmm~ it smells so good in here~"

She then looked at all the options of cakes and other sweets behind the glass counter.

"Ahh~ they have so many choices to choose from!" Ginger said excitedly

As Ginger was scanning the whole glass counter and thought about what she should get.

Camus, however, was already there, but he was in his disguise, so Ginger didn't notice him.

When he saw Ginger having a difficulty trying to choose which cake to eat, he stood beside her and pointed to a red velvet cupcake.

"You should eat this one." Camus said

Ginger looked at him and then stared at the cupcake he pointed at, "Ohhh, I didn't know that they had red velvet cupcakes."

Camus nodded, "Their velvet cupcakes are the best of the best."

"Ohhh, okay, I'll try that one then." Ginger said to the woman behind the counter

The woman took the cupcake and Ginger paid for it and she took the small box they gave her with the cupcake inside of it.

Ginger grinned, "I wonder how it tastes like............."

"Why don't you try it to answer your questions about it?" Camus suggested

Ginger opened the small box and stared at the perfect little cupcake inside, "But it looks so perfect! I can't mess it up!"

(I hate it when this type of thing happens XD. The cupcake is in its perfect form and you don't want to mess it up by eating it.)

Camus sighed, "But you'll never know how it'll taste like if you keep it like that."

Ginger stared at the cupcake and listed all the pros and cons in her mind.

"Hmmmm.........." Ginger thought, "Okay, I'll eat it."

"Finally." Camus thought

Ginger held the cupcake in her hands and bit into it and chewed, savoring the flavor.

"Mmmm~" Ginger grinned, "It's so good~"

Camus grinned/smirked, (Idk how it is, but it's like a grin, but it looks like you're smirking) "If you want, I can buy you some of the other cakes."

Ginger looked up at him and quickly shook her head, "No, I can't accept anything from a stranger."

Camus chuckled, "But I'm not a stranger."

"Hm? You sure? Cause you don't look like anyone I know." Ginger said doubtingly

Camus took off his glasses and a little of his scarf, "Now do you recognize me?"

Ginger widened her eyes and her mouth parted a bit, "C-Camus-san."

He put his glasses back on, "Surprised to see me again?"

"O-Of course I'm surprised!" Ginger said, "Don't you have a bunch of work to do?"

Camus shook his head, "Kotobuki practically begged Saotome to give us a day off. He probably wanted to see that girl: Winfrey, again."

"Oh, I see......." Ginger murmured

"Are you willing to take my offer?" Camus questioned

Ginger looked at him and hesitantly nodded, "Okay, I'll try some of the other cakes here."
