I Dont Do Holiday's

Meredith's POV:
"Good morning Doctor Grey." I hear a very thick accent call from behind me as I stand at the nurses station doing a chart. Without turning around "Good morning Doctor Hayes." I reply we walks up next to me with two coffee's in hand I look up at him as he is much taller than me. "A coffee to start your day." He says handing me one I raise my eyebrow at him questioning his juster. "Black no sugar and no cream... just the way you like it." He says reading my face. I smile "thank you. Who told you?" I ask taking the coffee from him. "Doctor Webber." He simply replies I nod. "Ah." I say going back to my chart. "These flowers are quite strong." He says looking at a bouquet of flowers that were on the counter. "Yeah. I'm not big on holidays, I do them for my kids but if I didn't have kids I would celebrate." I reply he smiles turning so his back is leaning on the edge of the counter "whys that?" He raises an eyebrow. I shrug "it's a lot of work for one day." I reply locking eyes with him smiling he nods sipping his coffee "it is indeed." He says. It goes silent for a moment untold he breaks it "appendectomy on a ten year old... wanna scrub in?" He offers. "I'd love too." I reply he nods and walks away. Surgeries have become our thing we like to talk while poking around in the abdomens of his peds patients. I walk over to the elevator to go up to the OR so I can scrub and get ready. I go right to the scrub room scrub in and enter the OR where Doctor Hayes is standing above his patient.

"So Doctor Grey, what holidays do you celebrate?" He asks as out surgical instruments click together "we celebrate them all. Christmas, Easter, Halloween.." I reply he nods "but if you didn't have kids?" He asks. I lightly laugh. "I wouldn't even celebrate my birthday. Like I said holidays aren't my thing." I answer he nods. I smile through my mask and he can tell because he returns my smile. "What about you?" I ask in return. "Honestly the same as you. I don't see the big deal." He replies. I nod "exactly." I say. It goes silent for a minute "any new firsts broken?" I ask peeling my eyes from the bloody abdomen to see his eyes. He shakes his head with a slight smile "not yet. I don't take that stuff lightly." He answers I nod "as you shouldn't, it's pretty Important stuff." I reply he nods as we both look back down at the abdomen. We successfully complete the surgery and walk to the scrub room. "Did you get an invitation to Doctor Avery's Valentine's party tonight?" Doctor Hayes questions as we start to scrub out.

Cormac's POV:
I ask Meredith if she got an invitation to a party tonight jokingly. She looks over to me and nods "I did. I'm not going because I have no one to bring but I got the invite." She replies. I smile at her and think for a minute I chuckle "Meredith, will you go the party with me tonight?" I ask jokingly she knew I was joking but "sure why not." She replies anyway. I stop and at her for a minute. "Really?" I ask. She smiles "new first unlocked." She says walking out of the scrub room. I look back down at my wet hands as the water continues to hit them. Did I just ask Meredith grey out on a date? I ask myself. I cup my hands together letting the warm water puddle into them then splash it on my face it was refreshing but very against the rules. I need to get her flowers, find a babysitter, and find an outfit. I continue to say out loud to myself. I wipe my hands and face then walk out of the scrub room to update the family when I see Meredith. Meredith and I have been talking for about two and a half months I called her Meredith outside of work and when I text her but I keep it professional in the work place. Doctor grey was talking to the patients mom as I walked in. "Doctor Hayes and I successfully took the appendix out. Molly should be back to new in no time." She say looking over her shoulder at me. "We are keeping Molly for observation tonight but she should be able to leave tomorrow." I say smiling. Molly's mom hugs and thanks us and then we walk out to the nurses station. "Doctor Grey... where you being serious earlier?" I question standing with my back to the counter and my elbows holding me up. She looks at me and smile "only if you are Doctor Hayes." She replies. I smile and look down so she can't tell I'm blushing. "When should I pick you up?" I ask looking back up at her. "When ever is good for you." She says. I think for a minute "does eight work?" I ask. She nods "see you then Doctor Hayes... do you know my address?" She asks before walking away "I do." I reply she turns on her heels making her hair fly in the wind of her spin making me get butterflies in my stomach. I look down and shake my head before walking in the opposite direction.

So how do we feel about this??? My inspiration is it being Valentine's Day and greys not being on. If we don't like it I won't continue.
