School's finally out and summer has begun. I'm so excited as I grab my board out of the backyard. I haven't surfed in a while considering all this boyfriend stuff has been on my mind. So finally I can just clear my mind for a while doing what I love.

As I'm walking towards the water I see Ace already out there. I don't know why I feel so surprised I know surfing is Ace's favorite thing. Don't get me wrong I love hanging out with Ace he's great but I thought this was my time to forget about everything for a while.

I start to paddle out as Ace finally spots me. I decide to "play hard to get" even though he already has me. I keep paddle acting like I have no idea Ace is doing everything in his power to get my attention as he paddles over. But this was a bad idea. Acting like I wasn't paying attention made me not pay attention. Next thing I knew my board was flipped and I was sinking. I swam up knowing exactly what caused my sudden spill. I swim towards Ace keeping the most angry look on my face as possible.

"I could've drowned with your carelessness and what if there was a shark? I was dinner hanging out unsuspecting anything considering I'm sinking shocked at what happened!" I yell trying to act as mad as possible.

"Alani I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you like that. I thought since-" I cut him off

"Babe chill." I say giggling at his anxious babbling.

"I hate it when you do that to me," Ace says looking down into the clear blue sea.

"I know but your reaction sure is cute," I tease moving one of his cute curls out of his eyes.

"Well it's fancy seeing you here," he smirks with rosy cheeks from my small gesture.

"Yeah I decided to try something new," I joke looking down at my board. Under it I see a school of fish swimming by. I study them fascinated by how many there are. I'm snapped out of my fish study when I hear Ace start to laugh.

"What?" I say looking up at him suspiciously.

"Oh nothing. I was just having a conversation with you while you were off in your own little world," he laughs "now do you know why I like when people look at me when I talk to them?"

"So you know they're paying attention. Sorry I got distracted by finding nemo," I say giving him a cheeky grin.

"Aww I wanna see nemo," he whines

"Well you were too busy talking to yourself," I smirk as he glares at me.

After a while we get out of the water and walk up towards my house.

"Thanks for walking me home," I turn to him making sure to look at him as he's about to speak.

"No problem," he says wrapping his arms around me. I return the gesture and we just stand there hugging for what felt forever but I know was only a few seconds. As we both pull away Ace grabs my hands not wanting me to walk away yet even though I wasn't planning on it. I look at him getting lost in his blue eyes. Then I feel his lips crashing down on mine. We haven't kissed since the first time he came over to my house and it all feels right again. Our lips move in sync as Ace pulls me closer. My body gets tingly as I feel his hands on my waist. I can tell Ace is pouring all the emotions he's had over the past week between us into this kiss. I know for sure he is sorry and he is true and this is right. For once my mind and heart are in sweet harmony. This is love.

When I get home I can finally relax. This is finally a love story and there are no more stupid fights. I feel like that's all that happened anymore. Why did I always let Alexis get to me? I know Ace is mine and I need to know I can trust him. And now I know for sure I can.
