Author's Note: In case you missed it I changed the "Strange Stranger's" name to Kristine. Sorry for that. But there's a reason I promise! Now carry on reading my horrible story. XD

"Arlo we have to leave!" I called out to my brother as I ran towards our makeshift home.

"What do you mean?" Arlo questioned as he stood up from his place on the ground.

"I mean we go. Like now." I said as I started pulling him away.

"Wait we can't just pack up and leave!" Arlo stated as he tugged against me. Making it impossible for me to pull him away from the cave.

"We sure as hell can!"

"What did you do?" Arlo asked as he crossed his arms and gave me a suspicious look.

"Psh. I did nothing. I just think... We can do much better than this cave. I mean come on. Look at the...dark...in that cave. We should find a brighter cave. Like a mansion cave."

"Nyx. I understand the fact that I'm a horrible at most things. However, I'm not a complete idiot. Now fess up."

"Fine, fine," I complained. "Basically I found a weird girl out in the woods when I was hunting and she was all like, "Kevin." I thought she was crazy so I hid, but she saw me and I was like "Oh crap." So then I ran, but she followed me. Then she said her name was Kristine and she left. I thought everything was okay but I kinda led her to the cave. So...yeah. She has a bow too. So...she could kill us."

"Oh my god." Arlo looked at me shocked then placed a hand on my shoulder. "You got so depressed you moved to drugs! I thought you knew better!"

"Arlo it's not drugs! It's real!" I shrugged his hand off my shoulder and glared at him.

"Why does all this weird stuff happen to you?"

"It's because you're boring and never leave the cave."

"Shut up you."

I snickered at my brother's reaction. Accusing him of being boring bothers him a lot. I use it to my advantage.

"Anyway. Can we leave now?" I questioned after my brother cooled down from his previous irritation.

"No can do. There's not enough time. It's almost night time. And with the snow storms coming up lately, we won't have a chance." Arlo stated, crushing my hopes of leaving.

"Thanks for the analyzation Mr.Positive." I retorted sarcastically, stomping back over to the cave.

"Well someone has to make plans that let us live in the end."

How funny. Sure for now we live. But for how much longer? Maybe a death in the bitter cold is better than my future. A death opposite of my parents.

We stayed in our cave. Arlo won the fight, stating that it was too dark to start heading out. He was probably right, but I can still get upset with "Mr. Logical." Arlo decided that just in case one of us should stand guard. Then switch places in the middle of the night. I agreed to first take first watch.

That was how I got to now. I sit by the entrance of the cave. My bow lies across my lap with one of my hands clamped on it, just in case of a surprise visitor. The wind is blowing ever so slightly. Making my obsidian colored hair flow in my face. Normally I'd fix it, but for now I'm too exhausted. Maybe I really am turning crazy and all this was a figment of my imagination. It's make more sense rather than all this being real.

As I thought to myself I heard something. Then I concentrated and listened. A snap of a twig, small whispers in the air. No doubt someone was there. As quietly as I could I scooted back into the cave. Arlo was fast asleep. His auburn hair had grown so long it slightly covered his eyes. I shook him a little to try and wake him up. But of course he couldn't wake up in an easy manner. So then I did what a logical person would do. I hit him upside the head. Sure it hurt him a little, but you couldn't deny its effectiveness.

"What was that for?" Arlo complained as he sat up rubbing his head.

I brought a finger to my lips signaling to him to be quiet. Thank goodness he listened. He must of heard the whispers and shuffling of feet, since he wrapped his fingers around his small dagger. The dagger was one of "24's" possessions. It was the one weapon Arlo couldn't harm himself with.

Both of us weapon in hand and ready for a fight. We stayed in our cave, there was no chance we could outrun anyone in the snow. We didn't even have decent weapons. Still, we survived this long. No way are we stopping now.

Closer and closer the noises come. We don't run. I'm a fighter. Arlo's a planner. I'm headstrong. Arlo's logical. I breathe death and him life. We're night and day, opposites. But somehow, someway, these two opposites are going to live. For my brother's sake...I live.
