Warrior: A MHA Fanfic

Part Eight

If those cold, dead eyes had met mine in any other situation I'm sure that I would have been frozen in fear, unable to move or even react in anyway. But right now I had found myself in a battle for life and death, and I was determined to come out alive.

After my attack on the villain I remained in a crouch position, waiting for a counter attack, ready to fight. However, this proved unnecessary when Midoriya took advantage of the fact that the villains were now focused on me as he leapt from the water which he had been partially submerged in, aiming a powerful blow right at the 'hand' villain who I had previously hit. For a split second it had seemed as though his punch had landed and the villain was dealt with but when the smoke and dust cleared it was obvious that that was not the case. Rather than the sight of the villain splayed on the floor that I had expected I was met with the sight of Midoriya's fist pushing uselessly against the stomach of the creature who the villains had been calling Nomu, and the creature was unharmed. Shock and worry began to overtake my mind as I realised this, it shouldn't have been possible, I knew that. But it was possible, and it was happening.

Seeing both mine and Midoriya's reactions to this unforeseen outcome the hand villain began to laugh hysterically, obviously finding humour in our complete horror as he declared. "I'm done with you now."

Once those words had left the villains mouth the Nomu immediately grabbed hold of Midoriya with one huge arm while it began to reach forward with the other, ready to crush him. Tsuyu attempted to help but it seemed as though it would be in vain as the pale hands of the villain once again advance towards both her and Mineta yet this time one was impaled by one of my arrows. I could do nothing to stop any of these attacks I knew I wouldn't be quick enough and with Aizawa still splayed out on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding him, there was nothing he would be able to do either. I began to feel as though any last dregs of hope were draining from my body, I was about to watch my new friends be crushed and decayed right in front of me. I squeezed my eyes shut, just as the worst was about to happen, I couldn't watch, but just as I had expected the dying screams of my classmates to ring out I heard an explosion of sorts coming from the entrance of the USJ. This caused me to cautiously open my eyes and swivel around just in time to see All-Might emerge from the smoke and dust which surrounded the entrance doors. 

I fell to my knees in relief, tears starting to blur my vision, my body beginning to shake as the emotions which I hadn't even realised I had been suppressing began to rise to the surface. The most prominent being that of pure, unadulterated terror, not only for me but for my other classmates that could be dead for all I knew. My thoughts drifted quickly to Mo, I had no idea where she was in this huge building, never mind if she was safe. They then wandered to Kaminari, I hadn't known him long so I had no idea how he would even react in a situation like this but I knew he was brave and strong and courageous and it gave me hope that he would be okay. 

While my mind was being suddenly overwhelmed by all of these thoughts and feelings All-Might was doing his best to reassure us as he announced, "Have no fear students. For I am here!"

After letting his words linger for a few short seconds All-Might instantaneously took out the few lower ranking villains that still remained then swooping by to collect Aizawa, Tsuyu, Midoriya and Mineta. I quickly realised that due to my small frame and position on the floor he hadn't noticed that I was even there. I knew that if I wanted to make it out of this situation alive I would have to get All-Might's attention somehow but for the moment he was preoccupied with Midoriya and the others, I wanted so badly to get up and run towards the ray of hope, run towards safety but I knew it was too dangerous considering the hand villain and the Nomu stood between us. It didn't take long for All-Might to send Midoriya, Mineta and Tsuyu away carrying Aizawa to safety, as soon as that was done he instantly started his attack against the two villains however, as I had expected, the powerful hit didn't affect the Nomu in the slightest, causing the two to engage in fist fight of sorts. 

Unfortunately for me this meant that the mysterious hand villain now had more time to asses the situation since All-Might was busy and it didn't take long for those murderous eyes to land on me once more. Even though the mouth of the villain was obscured by the ominous hand which covered the majority of his face I could tell from his eyes that he had begun to smile. It was clear that he was after some sort of revenge because of how I had previously stopped him from killing Tsuyu. This wasn't good. Not in the slightest.

Glancing back a final time to make sure the other two were still preoccupied with each other he began to slowly advance towards me. Taking note of this I rose up, ridding myself of my cloak and adjusting my stance so that I would be ready for any attack, luckily this villain seemed to not be very physically strong or skilled in combat, this meant I had a chance. I just couldn't let him touch me.

"Ah if it isn't one of the famous Yaoyorozu twins." The villain spoke slowly, his raspy drenched in a malicious tone. h

Shit, he must have somehow recognised me now that my cloak wasn't hiding my face and hair. My family was well-known but Mo and I weren't that exposed to the public, definitely not famous. Had he done research on us? If so did he know what my quirk was?

I chose to ignore his comment, remaining focused on his nearing form, constantly watching his every move. In theory this type of villain should be the easiest for me to defeat, with no emitter quirk or mutation he should only be at least average in combat. I decided that it would be best for me to use my metal batons which I kept strapped to my hips, using these I would be able to fend him off without killing him. Once I had drawn each baton I determined that the villain was close enough now that I would have to engage.

My first move was to run at him full speed, knowing that as I ran past him he would reach out a hand, aiming for my face, when he did this I made sure to adjust my body so that I was now sliding across the floor, beneath his grasp. Once I was in the perfect position beside him I swung one baton towards the the inside of his legs, knocking the unsuspecting villain to the ground. Now that I had knocked him to the ground I jumped up from my position and began to run towards the exit, I knew from the start that I wouldn't have to defeat the villain, just make him unable to catch me while escaping.

However, as I was manoeuvring past the pair battling I heard a cry coming from behind me "NOMU!" the villain on the floor yelled, "Get the boy!"

After hearing the yell I was immediately met with an immense blow to my stomach, throwing me halfway across the centre of the building. It was clear that after the Nomu had heard the cries of its master its target had shifted from All-Might to me. The pain in my stomach was paralysing, as soon as I was able to sit up from where I was thrown I turned to the side and threw up the contents of my stomach, groaning from the agony that was currently raging through my body. I recognised that the blow was powerful, but I also knew that I couldn't give up and if I did my death was guaranteed. 

With the knowledge of these facts I shakily stood up, watching as the Nomu was nearing me, running at full speed towards me. It wasn't even a question if I would be able to fight him, if All-Might couldn't then I had no chance so I had to resort to a plan that would at least allow me to escape with no more severe injuries. I would have to get around the Nomu somehow.

Once I had a plan formulated I began to run towards the Nomu head on, as I got only a metre or so away from the beast I surged into the air, while I was ascending the Nomu closed the distance between us meaning I was able to reach out my arms, grasping the Nomu's head with a had on each side and using this to flip myself over him. Somehow my plan worked and I was able to begin to immediately run in the other direction, closing the distance between me and All-Might. 

Just as I was about to reach All-Might, reach safety I felt something large wrap around one of my legs, I didn't even have time to see what it was that had grabbed hold of me before I was lifted from the ground and thrown mercilessly towards a wooded area. My body collided harshly with a large tree, this time the pain was even worse, so much so that as soon as my limp body fell back to the floor I was unable to remain conscious and my vision was consumed by darkness.
