"Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another."

1 year laterEnji Todoroki is dead.
The number 1 Pro Hero is no more.
Authorities found him lying still on the cold, hardwood floors of his estate. No sign of forced entry, no signs of struggle, no blood, just Enji lying there, eyes closed in eternal sleep.
There were no footprints, handprints, or fibers of clothing on the scene. There was no DNA present except for Enji Todoroki's cold, lifeless body, which seemed to be in perfect condition, except for the fact that he was deathly pale. It was like no one had been to the estate at all, like Enji had just dropped dead in his place. The only thing they found was a cryptic message spray painted on the ground across from him.
Investigators spent months searching for clues and information on how Mr. Todoroki died. Food at the estate had been spoiled past the expiration date, signaling that Enji had been dead for a while. Medical examiners searched his body for any signs of foul play, or if this was just a case of natural death. The toxicology reports came back clean, causing questions to arise, though there was one that rang through the streets of Japan:
How in the world did Enji Todoroki die?
The case of this mysterious death eventually went cold. Authorities were too stumped in trying to figure out if there was a perpetrator, and if there was one, how they managed to cover their tracks so easily and diligently, therefore, they ruled Enji Todoroki's death Undetermined, and the case was closed.
The family of Enji was notified of his mysterious death, and they seemed to be somewhat relieved to be rid of him.
The villains rejoiced, and there was a surge of attacks that terrorized the city, but the heroes quickly got them under control.
The heroes mourned over the loss of their comrade, and wonder why no one could catch who did this. They suspected foul play and began to start their own investigation.
The city mourned over the loss of yet another hero but continued to live in fear. Ever since the supposed death of the villian Dabi 3 years ago, a certain villian seemed to disappear from the world. They lived watching their backs every 5 seconds with a question that was swirling in their heads around the clock:
Where is Puppeteer?
Said villian, aka Y/n L/n, sat in room 305 in Rikito Hospitals' Intensive Care Unit, holding the hand of her boyfriend, Touya Todoroki, who's been in a coma for the last 2 and a half years.
"You know Wicker man, you...you don't have to worry about him anymore, he's gone." You whispered, lightly squeezing his hand while rubbing his white hair.
You had been up to the hospital to visit Touya ever since you left Sakaro Institution for the Criminally Insane, and since you weren't doing any villainous acts, everyone assumed you were dead.
The original League of Villians still kept in contact. Toga was currently spending her 20th birthday serving a life sentence in Akasi Penitentiary along with Spinner, Shigaraki was still living in the old hideout, Kurogiri was with his daughter, and Twice, well, Twice was 6 feet under.
"Toga wanted me to tell you, well, more like threaten you to get better. She turned 20 today, and yes, she's still in the Penitentiary along with Spinner. Not gonna lie, I...I miss them both, along with Mr. Crustbucket and Kurogiri. Shiggy threatened to disintegrate your favorite pair of boots if you don't get better." You sat in silence, the steady beat of the heart monitor filling the room.
