I was home alone, my parents out for dinner. Outside, it was pouring in the midst of the night. I was sitting in my bed, studying. I lifted my phone up, checking the time. 9:30pm. I sighed, flopping onto my back. I felt like I was all studied out, and I had no motivation to continue. I had nothing else to do, fortunately, so I laid down, planning to take a nap before I got back to studying.

I was about to lay down when suddenly, the doorbell rang. I was confused, and slightly nervous. I didn't know anyone who would show up at this time of night, and in these conditions. My parents weren't supposed to be home for another hour an a half or so, so I hopped out of bed and went to check who it was.

I grabbed my blanket, wrapping it around my shoulders as I scurried down the steps and got to the front door. I looked out the peephole, seeing a boy, who looked to be about my age, standing in the rain. His arms were crossed, it looked like he was trying to keep warm. I unlocked the door and opened it. I looked at him. His eyes were blue, his hair blonde and a little wavy.

"Can I help you?" I asked gently.

"Hi, um, my name is Adam. I live down the street, and I was locked out of my house. My parents are at work, and I lost my spare key. I don't want to stand out in the rain, is it okay if I come in until my parents gets home?"

I nodded. "Yes, of course. Please, come in." I opened the door a little wider as he stepped inside. He was dripping wet and I looked at him as I shut the door.

"Let me get you a towel. I walked into my laundry room, where a pile of fresh, clean towels sat on top of the dryer. I grabbed one, and then saw my dad's hoodie hanging on the laundry room rack. I grabbed that as well, walking back out to meet Adam.

He was standing in front of my door, looking around. I handed him the towel and hoodie.

"Here you go. Would you like me to make you some hot chocolate, some tea?" I asked as I lead him into my kitchen.

"Oh, no, that's alright. Thank you for offering, though." I nodded, looking up at him. He was taller than me, and he was cute.

"So, you said you lost your key. How did that happen?" He chuckled, looking me in the eye.

"Well, I had it in the pocket of my bag, but I accidentally left the pocket unzipped. I think it fell out on my way to hockey practice." I tilted my head.

"Oh, you play hockey. You go to Eden hall?" I asked. He nodded, not breaking the eye contact.

"I've never seen you around." He said to me.

"Oh, I'm in a lot of advanced classes. Most of the classes I take are with seniors."

Adam nodded, looking around my kitchen.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Y/N. Y/N Y/L/N." I tucked my hair behind my ear, looking down.

"It's nice to meet you, Y/N. Where are your parents?" He asked. I looked up.

"Oh, they're out for dinner. It's my mom's birthday dinner." He nodded.

"Thank you for your hospitality." He smiled.

"Of course, yeah, no problem. I was studying, and I was getting pretty bored with it, I suppose. You sort of came at a good time." Adam smiled sweetly, which gave me butterflies.

"Good. I'm glad." Adam stepped closer, placing his hand on my chin and tilting my head up. "I'm glad I was able to catch you at a good time." I blushed as Adam looked me in the eyes. He leaned in slowly, kissing my lips. He was gentle about it, and his lips were soft. I kissed him back, placing my hand behind his ear, enjoying it more and more as it went on. He pulled away, looking me in the eyes.
