"Come on, children! You're going to be late! Emmet, Dean, don't forget your car keys! Where's Edward?!" Esme's voice echoed throughout the house, frantic and full of urgency. Carlisle had left earlier that morning, leaving Esme to handle the chaos of the household as her siblings scrambled to get ready.

Dorothea had already settled herself in the back of Dean's car, while Jasper, her ever-attentive partner, occupied the front passenger seat. Both were used to the chaos that came with the Cullen household, but today, it felt more hectic than usual. One of them was half-focused on a book, while the other was clearly enjoying Esme's stress.

"Where's Eddy, Jas?" Dorothea asked, her tone amused as she glanced at Jasper.

"He's feeling a bit lost today. Trying his hardest to avoid school," Jasper didn't hesitate, always quick with an answer for Dorothea, "but locking himself in his room won't exactly help him escape. Esme will find him eventually."

Dorothea couldn't help but giggle at the thought of Edward attempting to hide from school. She could easily imagine him sulking in some dark corner, trying to avoid the inevitable with his usual dramatic flair. Leaning over toward Jasper, she wrapped her arm around his shoulder, her eyes glinting with mischief as she playfully peered at the book he was reading.

Jasper, always quick to notice, shot her a teasing grin, but she didn't let up, continuing to distract him. After a few minutes of playful banter, Dorothea's hand ventured too close to Jasper's face, and with a mock-snarl, he tried to bite her fingers. She burst into laughter at the sudden playful attack, her giggles ringing through the air.

Her eyes, still twinkling with amusement, then landed on Edward, who was being scolded by Esme. The sight made her pause, her laughter fading into a knowing smirk. Esme was gently but firmly guiding Edward toward Emmet's jeep, the picture of maternal persistence.

Jasper, with a teasing grin, reached out with his free hand, brushing his fingers over Dorothea's bare arm before pulling her closer, as if to kiss her. But before their lips could meet, a yell from the front broke the moment.

"Come on, guys! We agreed—no PDA in my car!" Dean's voice rang out, his annoyance clear, but his playful tone didn't quite hide his amusement.

The couple ignored Dean's complaint, not at all fazed by his words. As Dean slid into the driver's seat, Alice followed close behind, taking a sit at the back and distracting Dorothea from Jasper by beginning a passionate conversation about the latest fashion trends and models.

The ride to school was a mix of music, laughter, and mild chaos. Dean blasted his music as he and Jasper debated over the merits of his playlist, while Dorothea and Alice chattered away in the backseat. The topic of conversation shifted to Edward and Isabella, their shared fascination with the pair's future growing with every passing moment.
