chapter 1: blind eyes

Julies pov (OC)

Black....black is the only color I can see, ever since I was born I've been blind, my papa and mama have been my eyes for about 20 years, I used to get bullied cause I couldn't see, my parents worry for me because they're getting older and pretty soon they'll pass and ill be alone but I think positive. Today me and papa had to run to the store because mama needed more flour and eggs,
"Ok julie, I need you to stay here ok, don't wonder off.", I smile and nodded my head, he kisses my forehead and walks away to get the stuff, as I wait I feel someone snatch my cane away causing me to fall, I sit up and start frantically feeling the ground for my cane, I hear footsteps walk up to me and stop right in front of me, "excuse me darling~, but I believe this is yours?", I feel the ground till I feel something smooth, shoes?, I feel up and feel I think pants?,
"Darling~, are you alright?", the man speaks again, I feel someone's hand cup mine and slowly pull me up,"y-yes I'm fine, t-thank you.", I think I look around but all I see is blackness again, I feel him put my cane back in my hand, I smile,"t-thank you.", he takes my hand and I feel a warm sensation on my hand, did he just kiss my hand?, he pulls away,"no problem my dear!", he lets go of my hand and I put it back on my cane,"u-um can I now the name of my saviour or not?", I laugh, he chuckles and responds,"my where are my manners, my name is Alastor darling~, and what may your name be my charming belle~?", I feel my face get hot and I smile shyly,"m-my name I-is j-.", I get interrupted by my name being called,"JULIE!", I turn and I feel my eyes move every which way,"papa?", I call feeling my arms out and searching every which way, I feel a hand on my shoulder and jump a bit,"darling~, is that your father?", I hear alastor ask by me, I nod my head and hear running steps to me and alastor,"Julie didnt I say not to wonder off?", I hear my father say as he brings me in for a hug,"sorry papa, someone took my cane but this fine man brought it back for me!", I smile to where I assume is where Alastor is,"did he now?", I nod my head and smile again,
"Hello!, my name is Alastor!", I hear hands clasp and I assume there shaking hands, I hear my father speak,"OH, I think I know you, your alastor the radio host, right?", I look to I assume is where alastor is and start shaking with joy when he says it is him, my father speaks again,
"Well my Julie here just so happens to be your biggest fan, she never missed a single station of yours, always on time to!", I blush in embarrassment as I hear alastor chuckle,"well its always good to see a fan of mine, I'm honored darling~.", I smile and I guess I looked away, I was to embarrassed to say anything,
"Well, it was nice meeting you Mr.Alastor but we must be off, its getting dark and my wife must be worried.", I hear my father say, I was slightly sad that we had to leave,"yes, it was splendid to meet a big fan, sorry to keep you waiting good sir, and my dear, if you want I could someday take you out if its fine with your charming mother and father?",
I feel my face heat up and my eyes widen, 'Alastor wants to hang out with ME!', I smile,"YES, of course!", I grip my cane happily while smiling bigger,
"Mr.Alastor, may I talk to you in private please?", I hear sadness in my fathers voice,"Of course!",
"Julie stay put ok.", I nod and smile, I hear them walk away and smile to myself happily.

Alastor pov

Julies father takes my a little ways away from Julie so she couldn't hear us but can still see us,"what is it you need good sir!", he rubs the back of his neck nervously, "well, you see Mr.Alastor, Julie is different from other women.", I look at him confused still smiling,"but of course she is a charming and beautiful young lady, prettiest I've seen in town!", I see her father smile and look at his daughter lovingly something I do also looking at her, I get nicked out of my daze by her father speaking,"she's blind,you know?", I look at him in shock and then back at her,"she's been blind since birth, kids bully her and men refuse to marry her because of it.", I look at him sadly but still smiling,"Mr.Alastor, as you can see im getting old, and so is my wife, as Julie grows so do we and getting around is getting tiring for us, but since she likes you a lot and all, I was wondering when we pass you would maybe look after her, I know we just met and all, but I'm afraid everyone else is either old, or married and I don't see you have a wedding ring so I'm just assuming, but it'll take stress off our shoulders.", after his little speech I chuckle,"no sir, I am not married I haven't met the right person yet, but if it will let you rest at night and in death just know she will be in good hands!", he smiles a tear escaping his old eyes,"thank you so much Mr.Alastor I can die a happy man knowing my little girl is in good hands.", I smile and we say our goodbyes as he and the lovely belle leave from my sight, I chuckle to myself, 'my,my, if only you new the man I really am', I chuckle again as I make my way to mimzys show.
