The royal limousine sat in front of the palace, waiting to transport Leo wherever he pleases. The prince made his way down a couple minutes later. Climbing into the car, it then started to move. Adelaide would have to trail behind it, stealthy enough so that she wouldn't get caught.
The limo stopped at a children's hospital. Prince Leo strode out of the car and into the hospital, two bodyguards falling into step behind him. Adelaide would have to go around back as to not risk exposure. Sneaking around the side of the white building, she saw a door labeled employees only. Carefully, she nudged it open, then took a look around to make sure no one was in there. Deciding it was clear, Adelaide walked in.
Stretchers littered the room. Equipment placed all around her. Looking over the room, she spotted the exit door. Opening it slowly, Adelaide slithered out. Nurses and doctors were everywhere. She had an idea. Slipping back into the storage room, she grabbed a nurses outfit off the rack. Quickly changing and tying her loose dark brown hair into a low bun, Adelaide decided she looked passable enough.
Finding Leo after that was easy, considering the two big brutes following him. She just needed a way to get him alone. Leo sat in room 264 with a little girl, she couldn't be more than eight. His bodyguards stood outside the door guarding it. The little girl seemed to be uncomfortable eyeing the huge men. The prince noticed this, got up and shut the door. Perfect. All Adelaide would have to do is go in through a window. Striding into the room next door, a young boy lay asleep. Adelaide headed towards the window.
The ledge wasn't big enough for a normal human being to stand on, but Adelaide was trained for these sorts of things. Grabbing some rope on the way out, she tied it around her waist, then looped it over the window above the one she currently stood on. Pulling to make sure it's secure, she swung herself onto the window of the little girls room.
Tugging the window she slid in. Leo's eyes went wide as he saw her. Opening his mouth to call out, presumably for his bodyguards. She threw one her daggers, hitting right beside his face. That shut him up.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." She warned.
"Adelaide what a pleasure." Leo drawled.
"Hello Leo," Adelaide said walking towards him, "What brings you here?"
The little girl had hidden under her bed, eyes wide with fear.
"Adelaide, love, not in front of the children." The prince said scooping up the young child up in his arms.
"Listen Leo, you will follow me carefully and quietly, if you so much as make one noise, i'll kill you, got it?"
"Understood." He replied, rolling his eyes.
Leo set down the pretty girl and whispered something in her ear that immediately made her burst into laughter. The prince smiled softly at her, turned the tv on, and turned to face me, his signature scowl etched upon his face.
"Well, let's get this over with," Leo said, "and make it quick, I have somewhere I need to be."
Narrowing her eyes at him, Adelaide grabbed his arm and made towards the door. Smoothing out her nurse costume, she opened the door and walked out, Leo behind her. The guards started to move, she shot Leo a warning glance. The prince's frown only got deeper as he turned to look at his men.
"I'll only be a minute, stay here and make sure Rosie is okay." He ordered them.
The guards nodded eyeing her skeptically. Adelaide began walking, this time without any interruptions. Leo caught her to her side.
"So, where exactly are you taking me?" He questioned.
"Who's Rosie?" She countered.
"Somebody that needs me," Leo said looking behind him, "where are we going?"
"Somewhere nobody'll find us."
"Everybody will know i'm gone soon, they'll come looking for me."
"I'm well aware of that, that's why we're taking a shortcut." Adelaide huffed.
Leo went silent, following her through the hospital. They came up to a back door that led outside. Shoving Leo out, she then ditched the nurse outfit, seized the prince's arm and continued on her way.
"You know if you weren't trying to kill me all the time, we could have actually gotten along." Leo glanced at her.
"Shut your mouth," Adelaide snapped, "I'll always hate you."
"Yes, why is that?" The prince wondered.
Adelaide stopped suddenly. Her eyes gleaming with rage as she recalled a certain event. Two years ago, it had been her first mission to hunt Leo. She had broken into his room, only to see the exact same royal emblem that had been in her parents room the night they were murdered. Ever since then, her hatred for the prince grew stronger and stronger every day he lived.
"Adelaide, hello?" Waving his hand in front of her face. Leo looked almost bored.
Snapping back to reality, "keep moving," was all she said.
On the way back to Adelaide's lodgings, she spoke no more than she needed to and Leo kept quiet occasionally eyeing her. Finally, they neared the establishment where she worked. The place was an impressive building. Black stone walls stood tall in the sunlight. "The Assassins Assembly" was what the organization was called. Archer had taken in her in and trained her like she was one of his own, and Adelaide would forever be grateful for that. Leo's eyes were full of panic, realizing where they were.
"Come on, Prince." Adelaide taunted sensing his fear.
"They'll kill me if I step foot in there!"
"Not if you're with me."
She dragged Leo into the building, heads turned to glare at the prince. Adelaide waltzed her way through, Leo clinging to her for his life. Taking the elevator down, she unlocked the door leading to her apartment. Leo surveyed the room, let out a breath of air, and shrugged walking to sit on the couch.
"Now, what am I going to do with you." Adelaide said eyes gleaming with hatred.
