It was a moderately cloudy day in Bradford. I was packing my last-minute bag and lifting my extremely heavy suitcase off the ground.

"Hmph," I struggled as I lifted it to the living room where my brother already stood with his clean luggage and that shiny prefect badge, that he likes to polish every night.

"Hey, Hayls! You ready to go?" My dad called out from the breakfast table with a wizarding newspaper in his hands.

"Yeah, let me go get one more thing," I yelled as I ran into my room to collect one of my most valued possessions. It was a picture of my late husky, Clyde. He was the most adorable husky. He looked extremely intimidating like a wolf, but in real life, he is a huge softy.

I grabbed the photo frame and ran out of my room ready to go to Hogwarts for the first time. Ever since my brother left 6 years ago for Hogwarts, I've wanted to go. The school seems really cool and the professors all seem very nice, well except Professor Binns, my brother says he's extremely boring.

After my family and I arrived at the station. Immediately when we got there, my brother met up with his smart Ravenclaw friends. Yes, my brother is a Ravenclaw and a prefect too! He has a really good reputation at Hogwarts, being the smart and cool one. I don't know if I could match up to his social level, he literally has friends everywhere!

"Hayley! You're going to miss the train! Get in!" My mum screams as she puts some gummies and treats in my backpack.

"Bye mum! Bye, dad!" I hollered.

"Bye Hayley!" They both said in unison. "Take care of your sister, Nathaniel!" My mum yelled.

"I will mum!" Nathaniel shouted just as the train doors close shut.

"I'm going to go sit with my friends," Nathaniel said as he left me alone in a train carriage.

"So much for taking care of me" I muttered under my breath.

Suddenly the train carriage opened up and it revealed a blonde girl around the same height as me.

"Can I sit here?" She asked nervously.

"Yeah sure," I said bluntly as he scooted my unpacked goodies aside making space for her.  I am usually not so forward with strangers, but when you don't have any friends in an extremely large school,  you're kind of forced to I guess.

"My name is Alice, Alice Fortescue," Alice said as she lent out her hand that I shook.

"Hello! My name is Hayley Cole," I said giving Alice a small smile.

"Nice to meet you! I have to say, your hair is so pretty!" Alice gushes at my neck-level brunette curls.

"Thank you, yours is too," I said nervously.

"I can't wait to meet the other girls too, aren't you?" Alice says excitedly.

"Yeah, kind of, I guess, I'm not really good around other people," I explain slowly.

"Don't worry, I'll always be there for you," She says with a warm friendly look.
