chapter two

I sat beside Callie at the kitchen island the next morning as everyone ate breakfast. "Hey Olvia can you get juice for everyone?" Lena asked as she placed plates down. "Of course." I smiled going to the fridge.

"Marianna lets go, youre gonna be late." Stef yelled as she came down. "I still have to do my hair." Stef shrugged. "Its to late, you guys have to walk today. We have a thing."

Her face quickly dropped. "I cant go like this." She gestured to her hair. "I think you could pull it off." I joked sending her a wink. Her face flushed and she looked away.

"Alright you guys have to be out the door in ten. Stef and I have a meeting with Bill and I'm gonna take Olivia and Jude to the school to show them around." Lena told everyone.

I chuckled as Jesus rode in on a skateboard, he turned to me with a smirk just as he crashed into Stef.

"Get off your skateboard." She snapped holding her foot. I withheld a snort as she scolded him. He sent me a glare. "Have you taken youe pill yet?"

"Yes." She sent him a look. "No."

He sighed sending a glance to Marianna which she frowned at. I looked back and saw Jesus return the last few pills to his bottle and pretend to swallow one. I quickly looked to the table when he turned around.

"Did you?" He started qyietly as he sat beside me. "Did I what?" I said back hoping he knew I'd keep the secret. He nodded and looked to his sister who watched us.

"I'm gonna go get dressed." I said putting my empty plate in the sink. "Are you sure honey? You barely ate." Lena said worried. "Trust me in stuffed, thanks though." I said walking away quickly, not liking how they all stared at me.

Realizing I had no clothes I began to search through Marianna's closet. I pulled out a cropped white tank top and a pink mini skirt.

After I got dressed I looked around until I found makeup in the bathroom. I covered what I could, knowing I could play the rest off as hickeys. Any thing that wasn't covered on my body was faded enough they wouldn't see, so I I went waited outside with Jude.

I smiled watching him climb around their tree, it was great seeibg him not so tense. But it faded when I saw them in the kitchen.

Usually in this situation they have a talk we get maybe ond more night here and then its off to a new crack house. Then the cycle will just repeat until we age out. But I still had small hopes we might get to stay.

I followed silently as Lena toured me and Jude through the school. As much as I wanted to ask about the meeting I knew it wasnt my place.

"So 7th grade is mostly in the south corridor." She said pointing. "With the high schoolers?" He asked sending me hopeful look. "Yeah."

"Looks like I get to hang with you all day buddy." I said hilding around his shoulders. "Not all day, but her and Callie will be around." She told him as she lead us into her office. "If you need anything I'll be here."

She paused, "Why dont you guys wait in the hall." She was looking at a man.

"Lena is it okay if I take off? Maybe I can get some clothes?" I asked with a bright smile. "Yeah go for it, here 50, get some for Callie too."

I hugged her quickly. "Thank you."

"Ill see you at the house ok Jude?" I said and he nodded back

I struggled to find my way around the school and thankfully saw Marianna. "How many kids are you selling to?" A girl asked her. "5 or 6 but in done anyways. Jesus found out." The girl. "Better hope none of them keep your stash in their lockers."

"I didnt take you for the drug dealer type." I said making them jump. "Olivia? I dont know what your talking about." She lied poorly.

"You know now it makes sense why Jesus was pretebding to take his pills." I realized. "Don't worry I already told him id keep your secret." I said at the face she pulled.

"He told you?" She asked shocked. "No I just noticed." I shrugged. "But why keep our secret?"

"He's keeping a secret for me so I do the same back." I explained. "Dont ask in not telling you."

Marianna looked unsure but didnt push further. "Where are you going?" I held up the money. "Getting clothes for me and Callie."

"They gavd you money for that?" She shouted annoyed as I walked away. "Guess so." I smiled. "Don't worry I'll get you somethung sexy." I called back giggling as she blushed again.

My body crashed into another as I turned. "Shit." I whispered holding my wrist. "Watch where you walk Blondie."

I smiled looking up to see Jesus looking back with a smirk. "What you doing here?" He asked. "Lena was giving us the tour." I explained walking alongside him.

"Actually I'm suposed to go shopping." I said. "Yeah getting something sexy as I heard right?" He asked with a smirk. "Not for me." He rose his brows. "For who then?"

"Your sister." I laughed as I saw his face scrunch in disgust. "I didnt need to know that."

A girl approached us. "Uh, well I better get going." I started looking away from the girls hateful glare. "See you at the house later." He smiled with a small wave. "Later."
