My children are a product of my evolution from millions of years. They have strived through hardships brought by the creatures living within them, and I have never been more proud. Some cannot or will not accept the beauty that comes from each individual. Yes, some of my children tend to be more harmful than others, but that does not mean they should go underappreciated. They are all similar and different in very bold ways, and it is my desire to explain to others the true potential of my children's beauty.
Though filled with cold, almost barren lands, Tundra holds a special place in my heart. She struggles to maintain an abundance of life in her lands, yet she still perseveres. If she cannot hold much living life, then she tries to at least preserve it. I hold weighted admiration as I see her take from life of all forms from many different ages. She holds the creatures and nature from her siblings so that they may one day retrieve them. Of course, over a few things these things get damaged, but in her care they never expire. The creatures she holds submit to her grasp with no pain, they are almost warm. Tundra is special to our family because she makes us feel immortal.
Desert has a temper not to be trifled with. He scorches the day and freezes the night. Tundra and he are more similar than they like to believe. Desert has barren lands like her, except his are filled with sand and they do not preserve life the way hers does. But every so often there is perfect balance in him, one would call it an oasis. A place you can find that is spread far from its companions that holds water and shade from the heat. Desert pretends he doesn't care and only a few may prefer him, but those little instances prove to me that he is remarkable.
Savanna is underestimated in her ability to keep a secret. Although she is composed of fields and flat plains, her tall grass goes unnoticed. The predators she contains are dangerous and will use that grass to their advantage. Her prey are mighty in their stature and speed. Her lands hold no tame animal and can be the most deceiving. She proposes a challenge to anyone who tries to stake claim over her possessions and most do not succeed. She is the quietest out of all my children and the most regal. I am proud of her deceptiveness.
Forest is the most beloved of all her siblings. She has everything one may need. Every classification of creature lives within her and is most taken care of. Lost lives become one with her grounds and give birth to new life. She provides shelter in hundreds of ways for any creature. Her beauty is a sight to behold especially when she is with Freshwater. She is most reliable in her abilities and skills. I do not have one bad word to say about her for she is our most resourceful.
Jungle is wild. He likes to keep his treasures hidden from others after they have been abandoned. Many ruins lie within his foliage slowly crumbling away. He is very unpredictable; you may never know what you will find or what he might be hiding. His creatures are vastly different in their beautiful colors. They are so saturated and seem to have come from a rainbow themselves. If something is needing to be hidden, he is perfect choosing to either hide in plain sight with colors or in the underbrush. I will never have luck to tame him, but his unpredictable beauty has brought so much light that you can only be happy when you are near him.
Marine knows no bounds. She stretches as far as the eye can see, pushing to others limits and wanting to be everywhere at once. She has hidden so much in so many years. Others are still unraveling what is hidden beneath her depths. She is a book filled with stories of the people who have crashed in her waters. Her and Desert have the meanest tempers, but she is more dangerous. Marine's temper can form storms both on sea and on the coast that takes lives. Of course, when you actually see in her waters, there is a whole other world to explore. Her colors rival with Jungle's. Her waters contain millions more of creatures that my other children could never hope to obtain. Marine makes others think of more. She invites them to ask questions and to discover her riddles. She inspires creativity in me.
Freshwater is docile. He does not have the capability of creating storms or drastic changes to his environment, but he does have the peace most will search for. His creatures are a great catch and his waters are sustaining. With his calm demeanor, it creates a space for relaxation when others are on his water. He has water that falls are rocks and erodes them for secret hideaways from the world. He is joy when others jump from rocks and swing from vines just to be able to feel his waters envelop them harshly. I come to him for peace as I see many do and I enjoy the rejuvination I have from every visit.
Now, you see the individuality that each of my children possess. I have never been ashamed nor will I ever be of their power. I hold on to hope that one day the world will decide to be kinder to my children and not so destructive of their beauty.
