“Tomorrow is the festival, our world is changing as Herbivores and Predators do their best to live together.  And, yet I feel nothing will truly change for me..” She said to her own reflection, as the White Dwarf gazed upon the small brook. While beneath the shade of the oak tree-- her already invested in thought  expression widened, as in the scope of her vision she caught a familiar sight. In the bed of the stream laid a white stone, its size dwarfed in comparison to the other larger excotic rocks near-by.

“You understand don’t you?” Haru said out loud as she pulled the end of her cotton blouse behind her and knelt down onto her knees. Her small snow white paws slipped beneath the water which gingerly cradled the inanimate object. The Rabbit silently sat there ogling the rock, as her grasp tightened around it. Haru exhaled a sigh as her mind buzzed.

Haru was humming a gentle tune as she misted the flora her gardening club would sell at the Festival. When suddenly his voice called out to her.

“Haru”

“Awkward..’ She thought to herself, before she turned around to see the Lupine squatting before her. His nostril filled with a twisted piece of toiletry to clot the bleeding.

“Oh living life to the fullest I see..” Haru’s thin lips contorted into a forced smile, as she looked upon Legoshi. “ Are you hurt?”

“No..” He replied honestly, but behind his steeled gaze, and the loud drumming of his heart in his eardrums. The Gray Wolf’s thoughts came out clear.   “I probably look like a monster to you, but.. I have to tell her! A confession, a confession I know won’t go anywhere.”

“Just don’t go getting in anymore fights okay..”

“H-Haru, I-.. I love you, Haru!”

Just as he was about to confess to me, all I could do was lie to him. By saying,”Whoa!  I’m sure itchy from all these mosquito bites!”

“...” There was an awkward pause between the two, before he resumed to speak. “No, you don’t.’

“And how do you know? You can’t see them.”

    “Well I can smell them.”

“But your nose is plugged up!” The Dwarf petite Hare snipped quickly.

“ He’s a strange one, that Legoshi.” She softly muttered to herself.  “But, he just doesn't get it

A tall predator like him, who’s really strong.  And handsome, also, really huge!” The Rabbit’s cheeks beamed crimson red and her maw softly salivated while she visualized the Gray Wolf shirtless, while mist had covered his groin. Quickly she smacked herself on the cheeks to dissipate any further thought of her fantasy. “ I can’t believe I’d just thought of him like that!” It has been sometime since a male has tortured me like this.” The Hare squealed out. As her figure quivered Haru had lunged the pebble into the stream.  Her flimsy handles drooped, when all of a sudden two large silhouettes approached her from behind. Before she could even alert to the danger a large paw gagged her small oral orifice.

Soon a pressure was being forced onto her tiny throat, she began to mutely cough as her vision doubled. Her once flailing legs- now hung limp. Her left slip on shoe had loosened in the struggle, and had fallen to the ground.

As the two adult males hastily rushed off with her in tow- during their broad day escape  one had left a blank business card with a lotus on it at the scene.

Later  in the morning the Gray Wolf had been walking down several pitched carnival tents, and booths. When a group of small Herbivores passed him, recalling an important event. “Ah, Haru!”

The Wolf’s ear perked up to listen in closer.

“What about Haru?” The Gray Wolf asked with a dopey expression.

“Oh Legoshi!  The group of male’s answered nervously in his presence-- And so they recalled their conversation with the Mayor and what they learnt of the group who abducted the Hare.

Meanwhile, Louis was discussing the matter with the Mayor himself.

There was an appalled expression upon the Red Mule Buck’s  face  as his gaze fell onto the sole slip-on that was laid in the garbage bin, but he noted the black leather handbag the Mayor had with him too. As he kept it just behind him.. “That bag.. The timing you know more than you let on Mayor, why would you be here just as she disappeared. And right after the blackout last night!” Louis thought to himself.

“Why are you telling me all of this?” Louis asked as he felt his gullet tighten.

“You are to understand the world of adults, as one day when you are a Beastar you too will, have issues with the Shishigumi.”

Louis felt the weight of the world on his shoulders as tried to process the situation.

“Did you know her? The girl from the gardening club, well no matter.”

The Lion's words made the Buck’s blood come to a slow boil.

The Deer kept his gaze on the evidence of Haru’s abduction, his burning pride and sense of justice lingered in his fragmented speech. “But.. no matter how much you try to cover this situation up, and by doing so… It won’t solve anything. There must be something you could do?”

“ What the general public witnesses and hears directly is extremely important. You must be fortitude, so they may never find out. As it would soil all my efforts to maintain an image Loins are friendly. That is why I spent four million yen, and underwent surgery to have my fangs removed. To be replaced with dentures and have my face injected. Oh by the way it's still there your past.” The  Lion walked over to his black business satchel. He reached inside to withdraw a hard nameless black bound book. “This is the record of the Black Market, and you’re still in it.. Product Number 4. I can make this all disappear, so long as you stay silent. Do we have a deal?”

The Deer felt trapped, his pride to reach the top. To fight for his uncertain future hung on this moment, “Tell yourself Louis.. Keep telling yourself.. You don’t care.” He rose his hand upwards weakly, just before he could get another word out. The Mayor grabbed Louis’s paw and shook it.

“Good! Now go about your business to prepare for the Festival.”
