Open up your eyes

Chapter 2

When I open up my eyes, I see the cave that I've been sleeping in. I jump up and burst out of the cave. Grabbing a fruit from a tree I sit down on the rocks. I bite into my mango as I look at my surroundings. It looks like I am just off the coast of Pyrrhia. I see scattered islands all around me and I close my eyes. I lay there on the rock for a moment, until I hear wing beats. I see a dragon, so I change my scale color. I fly behind the dragon, and see that it is a MudWing.

"What's a MudWing like you doing out here in the Sea kingdom?" I ask the MudWing, forgetting I'm invisible. The MudWing whips his head around to see nothing but air. I laugh silently and change back to my normal colors.

"What's a MudWing like you doing out here in the Sea kingdom?" I ask again. He, for the second time, whips his head around to face me. When he sees me he yelps in surprise.

"Who are you? Why are you following me?" He says, practically vibrating with fear. I laugh at him. We land, well I landed and he fell, and I answer him.

"I was wondering why a MudWing was flying over the Islands of a Thousand Scales, in the Sea kingdom." I nod at him. "What's your name?"

"M-my name is Alligator. I am just delivering a message to Queen Coral." He fumbles over his words. He looks me over. I snatch my wing out of his talon.

"What?!" I ask as he searches me. "What do you want? Why are you looking all over me?" I question him.

"I was wondering if you could turn invisible or something, because you weren't there one minute and then there the next." I shrug my shoulders.

"What's this so-called 'important message' you need to deliver?" I ask him. I stare at him until he answers me.

"It's nothing. Just that Queen Moorhen is having a dragonet. She just wants Queen Coral, a close friend of hers, to know about it." He nods at his cloth bag. "This was a gift from the Queen, for the messenger. Me."

"Well, I guess that explains everything." I turn to leave but he grabbed my shoulder.

"Wait! I didnt catch your name." He says inquisitively.

"Ha!" I laugh. "You want to know MY name?" He nods. "Ugh. Fine. My name is Glory. Are ya happy now?" I ask him.

"Yeah sure." He sighs. He looks worried about something.

I can't believe I'm doing this. "What's wrong?" I say while sighing.

"My bigwings died in a battle a few days ago." He looked on the verge of tears. "I miss him so much. I have to be the bigwings now, but I'm bot ready to. I cant take care of my sibs without Sheep." I see a tear roll down his face.

"Its ok. It's going to be ok." I say, awkwardly patting his shoulder. We stood there for a minute until we heard wingbeats.

"Well hello there, dragonets."
