As I left the classroom after that very disturbing first class, I proceeded to make my way to my dorm. As I made it to the dorm, I realized I left my key in the classroom but I was afraid to go back there seeing as I was afraid of dealing with those students at this point in time. I realized I had to go back to get the key, so I turned around and proceeded to head back.
As I made it to the end of the hall. Someone walked up to me. It was one of those creepy dudes in class and I was a little scared to react. However, he just gave me the key that I left in the classroom and proceeded to walk away. I still didn't know his name so I asked for his name.
Irx: Just call me Irx, I see you are not comfortable yet so I will just leave for now. See you around!
As he left, I yelled, "Thank you" and proceeded to head into my dorm.
As I entered my dorm, it was quite a nice-looking room. The walls were painted a bright red and the bedsheets were a light blue. There was a well-organized shelf with some necessities I would need. I noticed on the shelf that there was a letter on the shelf. I opened up the envelope and began reading the message

The letter was relatively difficult to read however it wasn't impossible. It said,
"Dear Emma,
Welcome to this institution, we are humbled that you have accepted our admission. This is quite a difficult school to get into and we know a lot of students do not apply because of their chances or our strenuous program. We appreciate you coming to our school and we are humbled that you could attend us. As for the scholarships you applied for, we have read your application and the college has granted you a full scholarship so do not stress out about the financial aid you needed to attend us. Thank you for attending us and appreciate you coming to this school.

I was quite ecstatic after reading this letter as I didn't have to worry about fees which felt great because now I can study without worrying about my mother about the fees.
I proceeded to call her to inform the news and all I could hear was her being super excited to hear the fantastic news. I haven't heard my mother this happy in a very long time. When I was 4 years old, my father left us and we haven't heard from him again. Since then, my mother has been working low-wage jobs while juggling her studies at college to get a degree because she needs to find a stable job soon but in order to do so, she needed to get a degree. I love my mother so much and I also proceeded to work jobs during high school to support my mother in her endeavors to pay back some of those college funds. We just got out of debt right before I came to this school.
Day after day was a struggle for me, and for me to keep moving forward in this society, keeping a positive front was key, and honestly, I hated it, but I always felt that feeling of love. I loved a guy from my high school so much, but I knew I couldn't be committed to a relationship for long. One day, I came to school and saw my crush kissing my best friend. I was in a terrible place and I wasn't presentable because the tears got all over my makeup and I was a mess that day. I try not to have crushes but it's hard for me not to have one.
