~Enya's POV~

"Did you not sleep, again?" Melanie, David's girlfriend, asked worried as she stepped into the living room where I'd been staying the past few nights. She had a fluffy blue bathrobe wrapped around her and her long blonde hair was hanging in a messy braid.

I shyly bit my lip and shook my head. I was too worried about All Might to sleep. All I could think about was the threat in my dream.

Melanie threw another concerned look in my direction, "how about some coffee?"

I nodded meekly and abandoned my spot on the sofa where I'd laid awake all night. Slowly, I shuffled into the kitchen after Melanie. I tried to offer to help but she ushered me away to go sit at the breakfast bar.

David stepped into the open living room area and spotted me in the kitchen. His pajamas had little beakers all over them and his robe looked kind of like a lab coat. He smiled, "good morning, Enya, did you sleep alright?"

Before I could answer, Melanie responded, "she didn't sleep...again." She finished brewing the coffee and prepared a cup for me in a cute mug with kittens on it.

David frowned, "do you need anything else to help you sleep?" He glanced over at the sofa where my bear was sitting.

I quickly shook my head. "N-no, i-it's alright."

David frowned again but didn't press the issue further. "Would you like to accompany me to the lab today?"

I looked to him curiously.

"I was thinking up some new ideas for All Might's costume. I could use some input on the overall appearance." I knew he was just trying to give me something to do to take my mind off of everything and I was grateful for the distraction.

I smiled. "Okay."

After coffee and a delicious breakfast prepared by Melanie, I got changed and followed David to the car. Melanie insisted I hide myself in a big frumpy hoodie and wear some huge sunglasses that obscured half my face. I stayed ducked down in the car while David drove to the lab.

Once we parked at campus, I glanced around anxiously looking for anyone suspicious. After taking a moment to survey our surroundings, David led me in the direction of the lab. I stuck close, keeping myself as obscured as possible. As we were walking by a storm drain grate, I heard a sound, like frantic meowing.

"Enya!" David panicked as I bolted toward the storm drain.

I dropped to my knees on the street and peered into the drain. A tiny orange kitten with faint black stripes was meowing frantically. It's eyes were barely open. I peered beyond it and felt tears well in my eyes as I spotted it's mother and the rest of the litter, unmoving. Choking on a sob I squeezed through the grate and fell into the storm drain. I managed to land swiftly beside the kitten.

Gently, I scooped it up. It felt like it was wasting away to nothing. How long had they been stuck down here? "It's okay, you'll be okay now." I said softly as I tucked it close to me. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I took a closer look at the mother and the rest of the litter, none of them were breathing. Another sob escaped me.

"Enya?!" David knelt beside the storm drain and let out a soft sigh of relief as he spotted me, "what on Earth-." He paused as he spotted the kitten in my arms and the ones who didn't make it at my feet. "Come on, let's get that little guy to the lab." His voice softened.

"Wh-what about the others?" I choked.

"I'll call animal control, they'll bury them." He reassured me, trying to coax me out.
