Calum's POV
"Do you like this one?" Belle asked, twirling in a blue prom gown.
Being her best friend, I couldn't say no when it came to helping her pick out a prom dress.
She didnt have a date yet, thank god.
"It doesn't matter if I like it, it matters if you like it."
"Yeah, guess I do. What do you think?"
"You look beautiful."
"Aww, you too Cal!"
"I'm serious." I whispered, inaudibly.
"So, about prom..."
"What about prom?" She asked.
"Will you go with me?"
"Of course!"
"Like, as my date?"
"Definitely."
I squealed (a manly squeal) and pulled Belle into a hug.
She laughed and kissed my cheek.
I put her down and she went to step back, but the dress was caught on my button.
"Only we could get stuck like this." She laughed, untangling the button.
She ruffled my hair and went back into the changing room.
I heard her grunt and a thud.
"You okay?"
"I can't get it unzipped." She whined.
"Let me help." I said, stepping in and pulling the curtain closed.
She blushed and turned around, her back facing me.
I gently grabbed the zipper and pulled it down.
The dress fell to the floor in a circle around her feet.
"Th-thanks."
"No problem." I said gasping.
I hadn't seen her body like this since we were thirteen.
She was fit.
She turned around, her stomach covered by her arms.
She was red as a tomato.
"Aww, someone's blushing." I said, poking her cheek.
"I really didn't expect the dress to fall down." She murmured.
"It's fine. It's just me."
"Exactly." She whispered quietly, holding the dress against her.
I sighed and pulled her close.
"You're beautiful." I said, pulling the dress away.
"No I'm not." She cried.
"You are." I said, putting my forehead against hers.
She smiled half-heartedly.
"I mean it." I said.
She sighed and stepped back.
"You can go, I'm gonna get dressed now."
"Okay."
I stepped out, pulling the curtain shut.
A few minutes later, she stepped out.
"Ready to go?" I asked.
"Yepper."
I smiled and we paid for the dress, leaving the store.
We got to her house in just a few minutes.
I followed her inside and she put the dress away in her closet, coming down in a white tee and my pajama bottoms.
"Nice pants." I laughed.
"Thanks."
I went up to her room and went into my drawer.
We each had a drawer of stuff at the others place.
We had sleepovers so often, it was necessary.
I threw on a pair of pajama bottoms and took off my shirt.
There was a knock at the door.
I opened it and there was Belle, with a huge bowl of popcorn, a stack of horror movies, and a two liter bottle of Pepsi.
She set everything on her dresser.
"Pick whichever you want." She said, gesturing to the movies.
I looked through and picked one that looked pretty scary.
"Really? Insidious?" She asked.
"Is it good?"
"It's awesome. It's terrifying yet hilarious at the same time."
"Sounds amazing."
-One Week Later-
I searched through my contacts, clicking on the right number.
"Belle?"
"Calum?"
"Yeah, it's me."
"What's up?"
"We got our first gig."
"Are you kidding me?"
"No. This Saturday at Jackson's."
"What time?"
"10:00."
"I'll be there. Did you get your suit yet?"
"Yeah. Blue tie and everything."
"Great. I'm so excited! Our first and last prom!"
"Me too!"
"Okay, well I gotta go."
"Bye Belle! Love you!"
"Love you too Cal!"
She hung up and I sighed.
I wish I could tell her how I feel.
She's just amazing.
