kageyama's pov-
kageyama returned to school the day after his awful encounter with hinata.

it was lunch, and kageyama was reminded of hinata's friends and how they were to kageyama. he started to get anxious and begged that he wouldn't have to see them today, unfortunately, luck wasnt on his side.

kageyama didn't know his was around the school fully, so he didn't know places he was allowed to eat apart from the cafeteria, so that's where he ended up going.

"kageyama, is that you?"

kageyama turned his head, trying to find where the soft spoken voice came from.

"over here kageyama."

he looked to a nearby vending machine, seeing a silver haired boy looking at him, smiling and gesturing for him to come towards him.

"hey.." kageyama waved slightly with a hint of awkwardness in his voice.

"hi! i just wanted to clear things up from the other day, is now a good time?" the kind boy asked.

"uh.. yeah, i haven't really got much to do so, go ahead." kageyama replied looking over the other boys shoulder only to see ginger hair in the distance.

hinata.

the ginger hair quickly disappeared out of sight when realising it got spotted.

"ah so, i'm sorry about how rude the others were, they're not normally like that and since hinata became...uh sort of.. sad? when his ex up and left out of nowhere they've become more defensive over him.. you know?"

hinata's ex up and left? that's a dick move.

"right and uh,, i suppose you've seen how hinata changes his mood almost instantly a lot.. right?" the boy questioned.

"yeah. i confronted him about it and let's just say it would've been better off if i didn't." kageyama recited the previous words he'd said to hinata last night. he regretted everything he said, he wasn't thinking straight and lashed out for no reason.

"mhm. hinata came to me today quite upset, he'd mentioned that you two had gotten in some sort of argument?"

"ahh.. yep. i sort of,, uh. got mad at him for no reason. i didn't get chance to apologise and he was being unreasonable- but. so was i. so we're both to blame really.." kageyama confessed.

it's easy to open up to this guy.. his aura is comforting..

"ah. i get it, by the way, i'm sugawara koshi.. also, i have a favour to ask."

"sure, what it?"

"please, whatever you do, try your hardest to get hinata back to the way he was. he's not the same and it's concerning, he's never as bright as he was and i can't remember the last time i saw him smile,, a genuine smile."

that's a big favour to ask a guy like me.

"i'll try my best.."

"thankyou."

and with that, sugawara left and approached the table he was sitting at; the one with all of the annoying guys.

kageyama turned back to the vending machine, slotted some spare change in and retrieved a carton of milk. he drank it whilst deep in thought.

so it's hinata's ex's fault for the way hinata is acting. gotta find out who that bastard is so i can fuck him up. and maybe it would be a stress reliever for me? who knows.

kageyama was exhausted, the day went by longer than he thought it would and on top of that, he'd been given countess assignments- all due next week.
