I don't like feeling high.
Not high as in under the influence.
I mean high off the feeling of love, lust, hope, happiness. Those things.
I don't like it because once you're up in the air you become vulnerable. And devoid to a lot of things.
Granted. It is a wonderful feeling.
But once you're up that high anything can happen to you.
Anything can bring you down.
You can get struck by unexpected lightning.
Or someone can see how high up you are, and shoot you down.
And that fall back down to the surface is the most painful thing in the world.
