The night was cold in the castle, everything was quiet, everyone was asleep, everything was still. Or so we thought it was late in the night I was awoken from the screams and the yelling of one of my guards telling me to get up and escape, I got out that day but no one else did. I ran out of my room being guided by the guard to the exit of the castle. When we got out I looked behind me the castle was engulfed in flames I teared up as soon as I realized "get on your horse!" the guard yelled at me. We rode at least 10 miles to the private cottage, "where are the others" I said panicked while breathing heavy "the others... didn't make it princess" I sped up faster still trying to process what happened and how. We got to the cottage "are you ok ember?" the guard asked me "yea." I said quickly and went into the cottage, then went to lie down.
In my world, there are two species the witches and vampires. The witches can only control one of the natural elements and of course, the little potion and herb spells, but I'm special so was my family we were the royal family we had control of all the elements, and everything. the vampires I didn't know much about them I just knew I was supposed to stay away that's what my parents taught me, they were going to wait till I was older to tell me more. I had 3 sisters ruby the youngest, amber the second youngest, and pearl the second oldest, then there was me the oldest the next one who was gonna rule. I and my sisters loved each other dearly we practiced magic together all the time, now that was gone.
I heard a knock on my door, it was the morning I slept for maybe two hours "come in!" I yelled it was my guard "hello princess" he bowed "hello, what is it" "I have exciting news" "what is it?" I asked a little scared for his answer "I have made plans for you to get to the secret academy and your going to live there and study there" "WHAT why?" I ask confused and slightly heated "it's what your parents would have wanted they always told me to send you girls there if anything ever happened" I stared blankly "we leave tomorrow" he bowed and left.
