This is insane. This is.... what??? So many questions and thoughts ran through Hiccup's mind. Was this woman a lunatic? Was she not who she says she is? His mother? He's never met his mother. He was only a babe when she passed away. Or so he thought.
"What...?" Hiccup's voice rung through the dark cave they were in. Surrounded by dragons and Toothless still in a trance next to him. "come" was all she said before running off.
"hey wait!" he followed her through the dark place and found himself going through a tunnel that had stones. "Wait! You're my mother? I mean what the-you're lying!" he yelled as he struggled to climb the rock and the night fury pushed him up.
Soon, he found himself looking at all the dragons flying the place was beautiful, littered with green plants and dragons and baby dragons living together. It seemed so.... peaceful. But Hiccup's heart was far from peaceful. It was full of confusion, and... anger? He didn't know what to feel.
He jumped seeing the woman who claimed to be his mother looking down at him.
"You...you can't be my mom. She..." he couldn't find the words. He refused to believe she was. She got down from the top and went towards him. "Hiccup. I know it's hard to believe. But I need you to believe. I am your mother. Where do you think your eyes from?" Hiccup looked at a small puddle that was near them and he looked at his eyes then hers. Both the same shade of green.
He sighed. "W-why did you leave?" he asked. Valka sighed.
/////It's hard to forgive you/////
After telling him the story, Hiccup still wasn't satisfied. Then why didn't she come back? He thought. As if reading his thoughts, she answered: "Because I thought no one would change. I always thought that everyone would turn their backs on me if I came back"
"Well, everyone changed at home Valka. They all have dragons of their own" Valka winced from hearing her son call her by her name. As much as she wanted to yell at him, she couldn't blame him. He was upset that she wasn't there when he needed her most.
"Look...I know you probably won't forgive me. But why don't we go eat something and maybe take a small flight" She suggested. As much as Hiccup wanted to spat a big no to her, a part of him wanted to give her a chance. She was probably hurt from his actions. Although she deserves it. A dark voice in the back of his head said.
He sighed. "okay" she smiled in relief.
///loving you is worse///
Soon, they were flying up in the air, other dragons following them. "Hey! I thought we were going to eat?" He asked. She only laughed. "Oh, we are!" she smiled She held out her hand and the alpha came up, a mouth full of fish and spitting it into the air. Hiccup watched in amazement as the fish went through the air and the dragons catching it. Toothless looked up at him for permission and Hiccup smiled and gestured for him to go ahead, to which he responded with happy energy and caught a bunch of fish.
Soon, they were flying again but letting the wind below carry them. He looked over to Valka who got off her dragon and began walking on their wings, soon getting to Toothless, then dropping down, only for Cloudjumper to catch her,
He looked in awe at her. There was so much she could do. She could do so many tricks, train dragons, and almost communicate with them...But she chose this over her own son.
He then felt the admiration melt away and only anger set in. Soon, they landed. He was petting Toothless. "we're going to go soon bud" he mumured softly.
"Hiccup" he turned to the voice. "Look, from the way you've been treating me this entire afternoon, I understand you are angry. And you have every right to be. But I can hope one day you'll forgive me. I would want us to start over" she expressed. Hiccup glared at her and she felt vulnerable.
