Eleanor never liked parties, she'd rather be at home watching mindless sitcoms or reading a book. But she did love her best friends, and they couldn't get enough of parties. Eleanor, Taylor, Sophia, and Cara met in second grade and they've been best friends ever since. They're about to be seniors in high school now and they're still as inseperable as ever.
"How do I look?" Sophia asks excitedly. She knew Liam would be at the party and she's been trying to catch his eye since sophomore year.
"You're so hot Soph!" Cara squeals back with equal excitement.
"Seriously. Liam has to be out of his mind if he doesn't take you home tonight." Eleanor is Sophia's best best friend; she always knows exactly what to say to her.
"Oh stop, you guys are boosting my ego." Sophia couldn't help but love the attention. She's always been the type to get her self-worth from the opinions of others, although her friends constantly tell her that she doesn't need validation from anyone to know she's wonderful.
"Are we all ready? Time to get wasted!" Taylor emerges into Sophia's room, keys still in hand, already in party mode and set to shove her friends into her little SUV and drive them across town to the party.
'Let's get this over with,' Eleanor thinks to herself and files behind her friends to head out.
The girls arrive to the party in ten minutes, and as soon as they step out red cups are shoved into their hands.
"Daaaamn ladies, looking good!" one of Liam's friends, Niall, hollered as they walked through the door. Liam punched his arm and immediately walked over to Sophia. With a smirk and a wink, Sophia left her friends to go upstairs with Liam for some 'private time'.
Eleanor looked around the room for some other familiar faces, but she only recognized Liam's four best friends; all the other guests must have been from another school. She sighed as she walked over to the refreshment table to replace her beer with a water, afterall someone had to be the designated driver and she was used to staying sober.
Taylor was already on her second beer and they'd only been at the party less than ten minutes.
"You should slow down Tate, remember what happened last time?" Cara asked causing the three girls to cringe as they remembered her making out with Lewis Jones the school creep.
"Oh whatever, I just wanna have a little fun! Loosen up a little bit." Taylor replied with a smirk.
The rest of the party went well; Zayn was playing much better music than last time, everyone was dancing together, and Eleanor eventually caved and took some tequila shots with her friends. That might not have been the best idea, though, because she woke up the next morning with a blank memory and a strange feeling that she'd kissed someone.
Eleanor sat up and looked around the room; her surroundings were completely unfamiliar. She was lying on a king sized bed with satin sheets, there was a chandelier in the center of the ceiling, and a large balcony facing a lake. She realized she must be in whoever threw the party's parent's room, and as she looked to her left she realized she wasn't alone. A sleeping blonde girl (with her makeup completely unsmudged despite drinking at least 6 beers and 15 shots) was curled up next to her, snoring lightly. Eleanor couldn't help her heart speeding up when she looked at her.
Just after Eleanor looked at the girl next to her, her phone vibrated.
'hey slut are u up yet?' -Soph
'just woke up. where r u?' Eleanor quickly typed out her reply.
'me and liam went back to his place last night, did u guys make it back ok last night?'
'um we're still here actually, idk where cara is'
'oh ok liams gonna drop me back off then. find cara so we can go get some brekky!'
With that, Eleanor shook Taylor until she woke up.
"Fucks sake, it's too early for this El."
"Wake up, we've got to find Cara and get out of here. We don't wanna overstay our welcome."
As the four girls found each other and went out to iHop, Eleanor couldn't stop staring at Taylor and sensing that they did more than fall asleep together last night.
