Remy
Laila and Remy used to live next door to each other and their parents owned the local pub together in Martock, Somerset.
Being the same age and their birthday's months apart, they were in the same year at school, even classes. Their friendship grew into a brother and sister relationship.
Remy has a younger sister Alene and Laila has three older brothers, Nathan, Max and Chris.
When they were fourteen, after hiding the way Remy felt, for a few years he finally told everyone he was gay with Laila's help. His parents were very religious, so this revelation wasn't acceptable to them.
This is when the relationship between the parents of both Laila and Remy soured, Terry and Liz couldn't understand why Remy's parents couldn't accept his sexuality.
Terry and Liz took Remy in as one of their own.
A few months later...
Terry and Liz wanted to move away out of the countryside and into the city.
When they told Remy's parents Jin and Melissa that they want to sell up and move, they had no interest that they were taking Remy with them.
Terry and Liz sold their share of the pub and moved with all the kids to London. In Harrow, they brought another pub and a house at first Remy felt home sick, he missed his younger sister, but after one phone call to his parents where as soon as he said hello they put the phone down he accepted this was his family and home now.
6 Years later...
Remy was doing a shift in the pub (The Oak) for Terry, "Remy?" he hears that voice and he knew without seeing her face.
He turned in her direction, "Alene? What are you doing here?" She wraps her arms around him as tears started to roll down her face. He hesitates, but soon his arms wrapped her up too.
He had seen her once since leaving Somerset, they had gone back for a weekend to celebrate Terry's 40th birthday. They stayed in the converted barn Terry and Liz still owned and where Remy's parents still lived next door. On this birthday celebration weekend, Laila and Remy went for a walk where they bumped into Alene on the way down the drive. It was awkward, Remy wished he could've taken his sister with him, but at the time when they moved she was only twelve and his parents would never allow for her to move away with their sinner son. Remy was about to speak when he heard his Dad's voice, "Alene, get inside!" their father hissed. Remy looked over and caught his Dad's eyes, which were cold, Jin soon turned away as his daughter passed him. Laila hooked her arm through his and pulled him away.
Snapping back to reality he realises today is her 18th birthday, "Happy birthday," he whispers to her.
She pulls away, "thanks. I'm moving to London! I want my big brother back in my life!" she looks at him hoping he won't turn his sister away.
He feels like a cloud has lifted, "Bet Mum and Dad aren't happy about that?" his heart breaks as he mentions them.
She sighs, "They aren't, but I'm eighteen now, so there's nothing they can do about it," she smiles at him.
He has his little sister back, "I guess you'll be needing somewhere to stay?" he asks her.
"Yeah, I was wondering..."
"Yes, you can stay at mine. Obviously, I need to talk to Laila and Josh about it, but I can't see her saying no," he knows Laila will be over the moon about Alene being here.
She has joked in the past about going back to Martock and kidnapping his sister, but the threat of being arrested had always stopped them.
"Take a seat I'll grab you a drink and something to eat," he rushes off to the kitchen.
