Chapter 2 Hybrid

Pre-Apocalypse

1st POV

I had known Rick for a long time, because of my family. My mom and dad work with him in the police station. Rick was the only one aside from my parents to know that I'm part bunny. That is right I have ears of a bunny and a tail of a bunny. The type of bunny I am is a lopsided bunny. When my parents were gone Rick would always come over with fun movies to watch. I always wondered what it would be like to go outside but I was never allowed.

It's Sunday and Rick said he was going to bring a surprise. In all honesty I was really excited to see what it was. It was around 10:43 am and he said he'll be here around 11. You may be wondering where are my parents. They left 15 minutes ago for a date. They knew Rick was coming over. 

While I was waiting I heard a knock on the door. I grabbed a stool to look through the peep hole and saw Rick and a nice looking lady. I opened the door but to make sure they didn't see my ears. "Hey Mana it's good to see you. I want you to meet my wife, Lori and my son, Carl," he said happy to see me. I fully open the door to let them in, while doing so I seen a boy close to my age.

3rd POV

As the family walked in Lori looked at the little bunny hybrid. "What is she? I'm not trying to be mean I'm just curious," "Mom she's a bunny!" Mana looked at them feeling a little upset. "I am a bunny, but I'm not a girl," he pouted looking at the two.

Lori looked at him, "Oh, sorry you're just so cute!" The bunny looked at her and smiled a big smile. "So everyone what do you think of him." Carl looked at his father and said "He's really cute why didn't you tell us dad?" "Yeah, how come hun?" Rick looked at them with a sweat drop face. "Well his parents didn't want anyone to know about him and since we're on the force with them they thought I should know." They look at him understanding his reason.

∼∼∼∼Time Skip to Wednesday∼∼∼∼

1st POV

My eyes widened Rick he-he was shot. When my parents told me I started to cry my heart out. "M-Mom can I-I go see hi-him?" "Sweetheart you know you can't. It's too dangerous for you, but do you want to go over to their house?" I nodded my head wanting to see Lori.

They took me through the backyard and walk to their backyard and knock on the door. "What the? Oh! Mr. and Mrs. Tach how come you didn't go to the front." "We decided to bring Mana over that's why." I looked at her with my watery eyes. "Oh, ok well I'll take care of him. Carl's in his bedroom upstairs I'll take you there." 

 I grabbed her hand and walked with her. When we got upstairs I noticed the door that was open to be Carl's. "Carl! Mana came to visit." As soon as she said that the boy perked his head up and ran towards me grabbing my hand. "Really? Are you staying for dinner?" "C-Can I?" Lori nodded smiling at me. 

Carl then brought me more into the room to see it was a pretty blue room. "I like your r-room." "Thanks it's not much but feel free to look around." He looked at me with a huge bright smile. His room was big, bigger than mine I guess it's because we live in a small house. "It's not much? It's huge. This is my dream room," I exclaimed with wide eyes.

∼∼∼∼Time Skip to Apocalypse∼∼∼∼

I looked around the camp, Glenn and some of the others haven't been around in a while. I started to get worried. "Lori when are they coming back?" "Soon Mana, soon." It's been two days and they were still gone. "Chin up kiddo, they'll be back," Shane said. I never liked Shane he said Rick was dead, but I still had faith that he was out there, somewhere.

I knew he was trying to be with Lori but it was just plane disgusting. I wish Rick was here he'd know what to do. After awhile we heard a car alarm coming our way. I heard someone say there was a new guy. Me and Carl looked over and saw Rick. "Dad! Dad!" "Rick! You're alive" "Carl! Mana!" We all started to cry.

After bonding with Rick again it seemed like it was like nothing ever happened and that I was whole again.
