"Mom!" Screamed Manav.

"Yes, Just wait a minute I am coming "

Prakriti turned off the gas after 3rd Whistle of the pressure cooker. She went to Manav and asked him why did he call her.

Manav who seemed irritated asked, "Mom where did you keep my journal?". Prakriti answered "must be here only. Wait I will search." She checked drawers and bookshelf and found it. Handing over it to Manav she said, " here you go, as I said it was here only." Manav snatched it and said, " obviously you must have kept it. Anyway I am getting late for my classes." "Bye Ma...." tried to speak Prakriti but Manav without listening or greeting her left for his college. She sighed and continued her household chores.

Soon it was time for Virat to leave for his office. He said, "look because of you I'm late again". Prakriti replied, "It's not me but you who woke up late. Why are you blaming me?" Virat glared at Prakriti and said in a stiff voice, "Don't answer me back again and again, I don't like this behavior of yours." Soon he left for his office.

Now Prakriti was alone at home. Few minutes after Virat left she screamed and punched her pillow back to back in order to vent out her anger. Then She went in front of the mirror, kept looking at her reflection, and said," I need to change." She changed into a beautiful black gown. Loosened her hairs. Took wine and started playing music. Along with listening to music, she danced gently on tunes closing her eyes. Also, she enjoyed drinking wine sip by sip. Then she called her friend Asha and had a fun conversation. She enjoyed her whole afternoon like this. It was 3:30 pm and the alarm on her mobile rang. Very quickly she switched off the music system, kept wine in its place, and changed back to her normal attire. By 4:00 pm she was ready in her usual look.

Doorbell ringed. She opened the door and it was Manav who was back from his college. With a happy face, she greeted him and he also wished her. Manav said, "Mom, I have to leave for tuition by 6:00 pm. Will you please give me some snacks? ". " Sure" replied Prakriti.

At 6:00 pm Manav left his house, he smiled thinking he will meet Maya. Yesterday they both had a fight and hence Maya was not talking to him. Today after college they both sorted all the differences. On a happy note, they decided to meet in the evening and spend some time with each other at the mall nearby. Both were having a great time together.

It was 7:30 pm and Virat was all set to leave his office. He made a phone call to his friend Anand who is working in the production department of a company. He said to meet him downstairs and from there they both will leave together.

Downstairs Anand was waiting. Virat greeted him. Anand said," so how was your day?" " Good, actually better than yesterday. I and my co-ordinator had an argument over one project yesterday. So I was feeling low but today he understood my point and it all ended on a good note" Virat replied. Anand said, " that's good." Both then continued talking about the office and their group circle. They parted their ways and soon Virat reached home.

Prakriti opened the door with a smile on her face. Virat smiled back and greeted her. Manav was also at home watching T.V. Manav greeted Virat. He changed clothes and all had dinner watching T.V where the movie's climax scene was going on. All enjoyed watching movies and cheered at the end with smiles on their faces.

The next morning again pressure cooker was on gas and Manav was calling Prakriti to ask about his belongings and ....................

Well, this will keep going on and on as this is the circle of life. In this story, Prakriti is representing a woman who gets hurt by her family member's behavior but she finds her own way where for a while she gets into a new identity by changing into black color where no other color (feeling) has any effect. She talks to Asha( meaning hope in Hindi) She charges herself to face her family members and soak all their positivity as well as negativity.

Manav is representing children who knowingly or unknowingly hurt their parents depending on the mood created by Maya (meaning illusion representing friend and peers).

Virat is representing a typical middle-class man who is habituated to define his mood based on the work and the environment he works in. At peace, he embraces happiness ( Anand - meaning happiness a character played by Manav's friend).

At the end everyone faces good times as well as bad times, one can overcome those feelings by talking and sharing with either family member or friends who may give them hope, happiness or even illusion to feel good.

Hence there are three identities one with family, one with closest people, and one Identity of self or third identity.
