The van arrived at a tall, circular, glass building and stopped in its underground parking. The two boys stepped out walked around the van to the back. The tan boy opened the sliding door, Corner and I climbed out. The three led me up a winding, cement staircase. "So, um... what am I supposed to call those two?" I whisper to Caroline, she giggled, "The tan one is Zak and his boyfriend is Darryl. Don't get hurt by their behaviour though, they've had a lovers quarrel today,"
"We can still hear you, you know?" Zak spoke in a stern and annoyed tone without even turning around. Caroline simply chuckled at his response. We arrived on the fourth floor, Darryl knocked on the door in an odd pattern and it promptly opened. Inside was a large room that took up almost the entirety of that floor, I presumed that this used to be an office building and all the cubicles had been removed. There were five people inside, Zak and Darryl lead me towards a tall figure. He had black jeans, a green hoodie and a leather strap covered in ammo slung over his shoulder. "Clay," Darryl said. The figure turned around, he was wearing a white circular mask with a smiley face. Zak pushed me forward, "We found him at fawn creek. That crossbow of his looks pretty powerful," Clay nodded and waved his hand, signalling Zak and Darryl away. They walked off and left me with Clay. "So, what's your name?"
"Umm George..." I can't help but look down at my feet, I feel intimidated by just looking at his tall and strong stature. He places two fingers under my chin and lifted my head to face him, I heard him chuckle underneath the mask. "Looks like the apocalypse didn't do much to you, you're pretty good looking." My face begins to turn red and he chuckles once more. He removes his hand. "So George, what brought you to fawn creek? No one has seen any sign of human life there recently, before you that is,"
"Laundry..." I stutter. "Laundry? So far from any other houses? Was your hideout in the woods or something?" I shook my head. "Your quiet aren't you?"
"I'm sorry sir..." my head once again looking down at the ground. He slapped my back, "Loosen up kiddo, don't make me feel old! Just call me Clay," I nod. "I was at fawn lake, I had to leave my old home behind as there lots of Walkers." Clay nodded, "Well you can stay with us, or you can join another rival gang," his tone lowered into a sarcastic voice at the mention of the other clans, "although it would be safer with us since this is the biggest group in the city," he spoke in a cocky manner now, "Or you could just go out on your own and get killed by a bunch of Walkers,"
"I think I'll stay with you guys," I quickly add. Clay chuckles and pats me on the back. "Take George here to his new room! He can share with Ant." A tall figure with a long pink platt walked towards me. "Follow me to your room, George."
