One
This morning, I woke up with a smile on my lips.
Or at least my smile lasted until I went to my room’s window and saw the rainy weather. Again. I was so sick of it that I almost wanted to hit my head over in over against the wall, whenever I saw that it was raining.
I tried to ignore the sound of the rain that was now kind of making “knock knock” in my window, as if I should let it in my house and drink a coffee together or something like that, hoping that if I would just ignore it, the rain would let the sun make his own job. Yeah, I wish.
With a perceptible sight, I walked away from the window, and throw myself back on the bed, hiding under the blanket.
My room wasn’t too small, or too big and, thanks to my dad, it had been decorated after my own taste. Anyway he didn’t came very often home to sit with me, because of his job in England. My mom couldn’t sit with me either because she died when I was little in a stupid car accident. It was the first time when my mom couldn’t pick me up from school in time so she ignored some traffic rules and got hit by another car. Unfortunately, she died shortly after that in hospital.
I would always hate that damned day and somehow I was blaming myself for her death, even though I knew it wasn’t my fault, but since that day, I wasn’t the same anymore. I started to draw all kinds of things that happened to me every day, putting them in white/black on the paper. I was quieter at school, even though I was the co-captain of the cheerleaders with my best friend Anna. She tended to be noisy, rude and kind of wild but she was a good friend though. Or whatever, she was a good friend when she wasn’t trying to get me out of my house to some party or club or God knows what crossed her mind in that moment.
I took a quick glance to the clock and… Damn! It was 7:26 am and today I had math for the first period, and the teacher was acting like she could easily be the Devil’s Mistress in flesh and bones in front of our class 4 hours a week.
I jumped out of the bed running to the bathroom, planning to do the shortest shower in the history. I couldn’t wait the hot water to come, so I took an ice-freezing shower, swearing the whole time. After a minute or so, I stepped outside it and started to wash my teeth with the lighting speed, running after that out of the bathroom to go and find some clothes to put on.
Unfortunately while I was running, my phone rang, loud through the room, and because of it, I tripped and fall- head first. It hurt a little, but I considered myself lucky I didn’t have a broken neck or something.
I answered the phone and then started to look after clothes while I spoke.
“Yea? “
“Good morning, sunshine”, said a nice voice at the end of the line.
“Ha-ha, very funny Anna”, I said while putting a pair of jeans and a white tank top on me.
“But how is it that you’re not in class? I thought I was the one that always gets late”, she answered. Ugh, I hated the moments when she liked to entertain herself by trying to piss me off.
“I kind of slept a little too much”, I said while looking at the clock, that was now showing 7:49 am. “Or not”, I continued.
