Thirteen sat up, gasping for air. She looked to her right, and she saw that one of the other children in the room, was sitting next to her, with a serene look on her face. Thirteen had heard the other children call her, Light. Light was the smallest child that had been locked up in the same room as Thirteen. Thirteen liked Light, for she was kind, and always seemed to be in a lighter mood than the rest of the children. Maybe that was where she had gotten her name, but Thirteen didn't know for sure. "It was just a bad dream, you're okay.", Light said, rising to her feet. She offered Thirteen her hand, which she took, and Light hoisted her up from the ground. One of the other children snorted. "Light, you're so positive, it's stupid." He said, and looked away, avoiding eye contact. He had dark brown, short hair, and pale skin. Thirteen knew that he wasn't like Light in the slightest. When he fell from the ceiling, and dropped into the room that Thirteen and Light were in, it took days before he even said a single word to them. He did tell them, however, that his name was Nick. "I'm just trying to help Thirteen, Nick." Light replied, not even bothering to look in Nick's direction. "What was it about this time, Thirteen?" said the fourth child. He also had brown hair, but it was slightly longer than Nick's. This boy was taller than all of the kids, and he towered above them. He was definitely kinder than Nick was, but he was quieter, and only really spoke when spoken to. Thirteen and the others learned that his name was Anthony, and he was the most recent drop from the ceiling. None of the children knew how this 'dropping from the ceiling' worked, of course. It always seemed to happen when the others weren't looking, or when they were asleep. As you can imagine, a random child falling from the ceiling, or a new kid somehow in the room when you woke up, could be quite surprising, and even a bit scary. Thirteen turned her head. "Well, I'm not entirely sure. I don't remember much of it, but I felt really cold, but then I felt like I was being blanketed in warmth." she said. Light opened her mouth, but before anyone could say anything, another child fell from the ceiling. But this child was different. She was covered, in blood.
