I unlocked the door and threw my keys on the counter. I was late again and whoever closed yesterday didn't clean the coffee mashine. I opened the only window the coffee shop had, since it was just a tiny space squeezed between two bigger buildings, and put on some music just to make cleaning somebody else's mess a tiny bit more enjoyable. I guess I should've been
used to that already, considering I spent the past two years cleaning up after that poor excuse of a boyfriend who decided to "lead a simpler life on the countryside" as he said, few months after we moved in together. He may have been shit most of the time but fuck, did that hurt. On the bright side, now I only have to clean the coffee mashine, not mountains of dishes and his lover's dirty panties.

"Good morning, sunshine!" Hailey's voice broke through the music as she walked through the door "How's life treating you on this beautiful morning?"

"Not too bad, yet could do better if it didn't make me start it by wiping day-old milk from the foamer. Which bastard closed yesterday?" I answered looking at Hailey, who smiled apologetically as I finished the sentence

"I think that would have been me, I'm sorry, I had a date and I had to change before"

"You're lucky you're my favourite co-worker" I laughed "But was the date worth inconveniencing me?"

"Well..."she tucked her blue hair behind her ears"We kissed, so I think yes. They're really cute and I met their dog so I would say that's a good start"

"Sounds like it, Ley, I'm rooting for you two" I said as she twirled and thanked me in a squeeky voice."I have to see the dog though, since you mentioned it"

Hailey proceeded to pull up her phone and excitingly show me pics of an incredibly cute border collie untill the first customer of the day showed up.

"I swear to God, if one more person refuses to acknowledge that 'a cappuccino with no foam' is a latte I will lose my mind" I sighed tucking a loose curl back into my bun.

"Don't even get me started, we're barely half-way through this shift and I am already irrationaly angry" Hailey growled pouring milk into the cup and handing it to me.

"There you go, enjoy!" I smiled at the customer and handed them their coffee. They ripped it from my hand and walked away, so Hailey and I looked at each other to share the anger and right as I turned back to the window to serve the next person I saw the bluest eyes I've ever encountered.

"Hi, can I get an iced hazelnut latte please?"

I was frozen, looking at this angelic creature, I could feel my cheeks turn red and heart pound.

"Do you not have hazelnut syrup anymore? Cause I can do vanilla as well"

"Hi, yes, we surely do have hazelnut syrup, let me ring you up"Hailey chimed in shoving me aside.

I prepared the drink, and as I gave it to him, our fingers touched and I felt literall electricity run through my hand

"Thank you lots, have a great day!" he smiled and walked away, sipping his latte

"Care to explain?" asked Hailey, maybe just as confused as I was "Did he wink at you or am I dreaming?"

"I-I don't know" I stuttered

"I hope you'll give him your number next time"

I frowned

"Dude, you're impossible" she shook her head and turned back to wipe down the counter.

As I walked home, few hours later, I couldn't stop thinking about the Blue-eyed Boy from earlier. He was beautiful. I swear I could almost see myself falling for him, but that thought fled as I walked through my front door and was greeted by half-packed boxes.

Josh.

My eyes started burning.

He walked out of the bathroom holding a bag of tide pods.

"I figured I can take one pack since we recently bought two"he said nonchalantly

"Yeah, I guess" I whispered stroking our cat that came up and rubbed against my leg.

My cat.

"Yeah, so I packed everything I needed, we're gonna swing by tomorrow and take it. Take care, Harry" he mumbled and left.

I sat down at the table and stared at the boxes.

All the months I've given is just shit we're dividing up.

He's taken my peace, my home, after I left my own home for him.He let me surrender everything I had and then took the tide pods.

After giving him the best I had, what to give after that?
