I'm awakened in my bed, startled by a blood curdling scream. I rip out of my silk sheets and hit the frozen floor with bare feet. I pull open the heavy wooden door of a room that resembled a dungeon to come face to face with a horrific scene. I break out into a sprint to my mother, splatted in blood with three gashes in her side. Her mouth filled with blood and her eyes displayed anguish as they stared into a void. Palace guards lay lifeless with lakes of blood draped around them. I arise from my mother's body and began searching for my father. I halted my steps and listened, it was unusually quiet. A crash sounded upstairs and I took of toward the noise, as I climbed the never ending spiral the sounds of a battle grew louder. I reached my parents bedroom as two swords clashed together in a battle for life. My father with an axe in his other hand his eyes glared upon his opponent, the leader of the Asus, Ryuk. With one swift move my father swung the axe hitting Ryuk in his arm, distracting him from the sword. Ryuk cried out in agony as the sword cut into his collar bone, bringing him down one one knee. A final battle cry was heard before Ryuk's sword was brought into my fathers stomach. I covered my mouth and prevented myself from dashing to my father. I watched my father cut of Ryuk's head and fall to the ground himself. I then entered to room slowly and approached my father. "Father, why had this happened?" I cried out to him. "His people thought that a women shouldn't be the heir to my throne, he came to kill you but I would not let that happen. Where is your mother?" I look away from him and closed my eyes, a tear escaping, descending down my cheek. "I'm sorry to leave you like this, but in three months you will turn sixteen and shall become Queen and rule this kingdom as me and you're fore-fathers. Don't let anyone take your voice, you have a position of change. Trust no one, there is always someone trying to take you down. I know you will be a great Queen." He exclaimed. I broke down sobbing as he closed his eyes.
TWO YEARS LATER
I walk towards the bathroom, the tail of my ballroom gown trailing behind me. The clicking of my velvet black heels sounded through the room. The lace trimming the black gown caressed my collar bone as the silk corset glowed against the light of the sun protruding through the window. I made my way into the bathroom and gazed upon myself in the mirror. My straight black hair lay flat cascading down my back, my tan skin looking golden as the sun beam shined upon it. My fire like eyes met each other In The mirror, staring down the only thing I had left from my mother. "You do have her eyes." I glance to my right to see a member of my council, Amber. She held my crown in her hands and a smile upon her face. Turning to face her "Is the council ready yet?" I asked and her smile instantly fell. "You could at least try and smile, we were friends once upon a time, it's nothing I haven't seen before. The council will be ready shortly and before you go out there know that I am totally against this." She exclaimed and placed the crown on my head. The crown was one of my prized possessions, my mother had it custom made for her to place on my head on coronation day. Unfortunately it was not her who placed it upon my head, Amber did. "I will come escort you to the council room in due time, until then relax. Remember no one can take away your voice". I nod as I take a seat across the room, watching her as she left the room. I sat and gazed into the distance thinking about the proposition that was brought before me last week. The president of my council, Cecil, had came to me in my personal library and told me that the council had a request. Once he had caught my interest I stopped what I was doing and gestured for him to take a seat. "The council has heard the complaints of the other countries and has now brought up this request. We need a king to rule this kingdom like the others." My heart sank and my face drew cold, "do I not run this kingdom to the best of my ability?" He grows red and nods his head. "Of course you do but for royalty purposes we do request to have an heir to the throne." I arise and Cecil follows, "I do not need a man to run this kingdom and I will find an heir to the throne myself, but I am only eighteen and will not submit to others opinions on how to run my kingdom." I exclaimed and left him where he stood. "They are ready for you, your highness." Amber stood at the door way as I break out of my trance and walk past her out of the door.
