Sparkles floated through the air. A sound similar to wind chimes echoed throughout the unusual, but beautiful forest. An odd statue stood motionless beneath the arch in front of him. The place seemed quite peaceful and serene, possibly sacred.
Hyrule in his eagerness to explore this new realm, stepped forward.
"Stop!" A voice cried urgently from the center of the crowd. "Nobody move!"
The heroes turned to see who spoke.
"What ever you do, do not leave this circle!" Sky commanded with a grave seriousness carved into his face.
Legend's eyes widened when he noticed Sky's appearance. He glanced at himself and then back to his friend.
White cracks spiderwebbed all over Sky. He looked like he had been shattered and glued back together with pure light. He actually appeared to be quite fragile. As if a single touch would cause him to fall to pieces.
Legend glanced at the others. They were whole like himself.
"Sky, what happened to you?!" Wind gasped.
"That's not important," Sky dismissed as he turned away. Legend didn't miss the hint of fear in his eyes.
"What you need to know is that we're in a spirit world right now so we don't have weapons and that you need to stay in this circle until I come back," The chosen hero continued.
"How come you can leave the circle, but we can't?" Warriors questioned folding his arms in front of him.
"Can you just listen to what I say for once?" Sky snapped. "I will be back in a little while so we can leave."
"What's gotten into you?" The captain reached out as if to grab him, but his hand simply hovered over the teen's seemingly brittle arm. He was afraid to.
The hero of the skies stepped out of the circle and broke into a sprint towards a green glowing stone. As soon as he left the circle, the hue changed to an intense red and the statue came alive! Legend held his breath as the statue charged at his friend.
With a roll, Sky grabbed the gem and the red faded back to green. The statue appeared back at its post.
Sky then proceeded to race for the other gem things while they waited in anticipation.
After what felt like fifteen minutes, Legend once again spotted him. The hue was once again red and a statue thing was right behind him eyes glowing with a crimson light. He could see that Sky was sprinting with all he had and he was quickly depleting his energy. The hulking figure drew closer and closer every second, spear at the ready.
Legend caught sight of Wild running over to help. The champion dared to stand between the two of them.
"Wild, no!" Sky yelled as he pushed his companion out of the way of the arching spear. "Get into the safe zone!"
"Sky!" Wild's horrified voice echoed across the entire realm.
Legend's eyes widened as the blade of the spear connected with Sky's back.
The Skyloftian released a cry of agony before shattering into a million pieces. The shards then dissolved into light.
A hush fell over the stunned group.
