chapter twelve

"Don't lie Jesus, you know its exactly the same thing." Marianna yelled from her room. "If thats the way itd gonna be, if were keeping score now, maybe I should tell moms who you've been talking to." Jesus threatened.

I glared at him as I on her bed. "You're such a dick." I muttered. He sent me a wary glance but turned back to his sister.

We hadn't been on good terms since the party. "Jesus, shut up." Marianna said quickly. "I bet they'd like to know that youve been giving Anna money." He continued.

"That would just you in trouble too and you know it." Marianna continued. "I dont care, what are they gonna do? Ground me? The only person I wanna see is Lexi and her parents won't let her talk to me." He told her. I scoffed looking back to her laptop I was on.

Of course he only wanted something from me when he thought Lexi wouldn't be available. "That must suck."

"I haven't seen her in weeks." He kept on.

Stef walked in with a scowl. "Thats enough arguing you guys, youre family. Youre gonna have to figure it out, find a way to get along."

"No one in the world can get along with her, not eve the Dali freaking Llama could get along with a monster like her." Jesus insulted Marianna, sending me a glance before he left the room. Stef sighed watching her son walk away.

"I'm sorry to say this loves, you brought this on yourself." She told her daughter. "Drinking like that and outing Lexi and your brother." I held up defensive hands. "I wasnt a part of that." Stef turned to me. "Right, we still don't know where you were." I frowned looking to Marianna. "We told you she came home early mama." She lied. "Still, Mari, it was none of your business."

Marianna's face fell. "I cant believe your taking their side." She said. "You might as well adopt Lexi, you like her so much better then us."

"You know that is not true, we love you no matter what. We just dont love the way you're acting." Stef told her, dropping her hard act. "Marianna, she's just trying make everything good again." I pulled her into a small hug when Stef walked away. "I know." She whispered back.

I stood by Kelsey before class started. "Hey I'm sorry about the party, I didn't think that would make you so upset." She apologized.

"It's fine, not your fault." I smiled.

"Have either of you seen Lexi?" Jesus asked walking up to us. "Sorry babe." Kelsey said. "Better get to class before you get someone else pregnant and cheat on them." She smirked pulling me away.

So I might've confessed about Jesus to Kelsey. I had no one else to tell and I doubt people would ever believe anything she said.

"I didn't." He called after us. "Forget it."

I scoffed and started our walking again. "Don't worry girl, I got you back." Kelsey reassured.

"Hey I'm headed home, if you want..." Brandon offered to me and Callie after school. "We're just gonna wait for Wyatt." She said awkwardly. He nodded slightly and turned away. "What's going on there?" I whispered.

She sent me a glare. "Noth-"

"I thought I told you to shut the hell up." A voice cut her off. My eyes went wide at the voice, I could recognize it anywhere. "I didn't do.....what are you....?" Callie started, sending me a look of regret.

"You're little boyfriend sent me a threat online." Liam seethed. "How does he know Wyatt?"

He settled a glare on me. "I'm not talking to you yet princess." I gulped and looked away. "What'd you tell him?" He said back to Callie. "I didn't tell him anything." She whispered trying to pull us away.

His hands flew up, a hard grip on each of our wrists. "Liam, let go. Please." I begged looking into his eyes. His grip softened on my arm. 

"I'm not gonna warn you again." He snapped at Callie. "Stay away from me, stay away from Sarah, and tell your freak of a boyfriend to keep his mouth shut or else..." I jumped back at his loud voice.

Callie pulled me back into her arms when Wyatt ran up, getting into a fight with Liam.

Finally the two split apart, Wyatt going to Callie and Liam retreating to his truck. He looked to me then stared to where they fought before he drove away. I looked down to see a folded piece of paper.

"Hey Cal, I'm just gonna walk." I told her grabbing the piece of paper.

I paced through the bathroom as I waited for a response. Liam had left his number on the paper with a message and I knew I needed to respond. When the phone started ringing I couldn't answer it, Why would he call?

"Shit." I whispered going back into my room. "Whose that?"

I jumped around. Jude sat on my bed with his friend Connor from school. "No one, Jude." I said quickly placing my phone upside down. "Sorry, I'm Olivia, Jude's cousin." I said to him. "I'm Connor."

"Why are you guys in here?" I questioned turning back to Jude. He looked up from my phone with a glare. "Brandon wanted the room to himself." He told me. "Right, well, I'll get out of your way." I grabbed my phone rushing out.

A little bit later Jude followed me to the kitchen. "Why are you texting him?" He asked sitting down.

"He came to school today." I admitted quietly. "Liam saw you? But I thought he couldn't because of..." Jude trailed off. "Yeah, yeah he isn't. That's why he left me his number, he wants to find Gabi." 

A frown fell upon his face. "I'm not gonna let him find her." I unlocked my phone showing the blocked number. "Good, just tell me if something like this happens again okay?" He said. "Jude, you don't have to take care of me." I sighed. 

"Then who will?"
